OBD2 only picking up powertrain fault codes

OBD2 only picking up powertrain fault codes
I have an EML327 WIFI OBD2 and I have induced a few errors on my A170 2006.
- disconnected the brake oil sensor
- disconnected the headlight
- disconnected the mass air flow sensor
I have got on my car's dashboard warnings for both brakes and headlights and also the engine-light (MIL) come up. But when scanning with either Torque or Auto Doctor I can only see the mass air flow sensor error code, which was the only powertrain fault I induced.
Will the ECU only generate fault codes for faults that may affect directly the powertrain (kind of faults that will pop an MIL)?
or
My tool is not capable of retrieving these code and the MB dealer's will be able to retrieve all codes?
