I got a replacement key and fob awhile back and the dealer noticed that the actual key wouldn't unlock the door, the lock would turn but wouldn't actually unlock. The lock actuator piece went out not long after that so I was hoping that was the culprit. After replacing the lock actuator the key still doesn't unlock the door. Is this just a matter of going to the dealer and ordering another lock mechanism keyed to my vehicle? Is there a way to take it off and test it?

If the key goes in and can be turned then the key is correct. You need to pull on the door handle when you turn the key, pulling kind of hard on handle will cause the knob to pop up

You the man. I'm not sure why the MB parts guy didn't know that. Works fine now that I know how to properly unlock it. Appreciate the help, that's one less thing I'll have to waste money on now with this money pit.
