HELP DEALER can't FIX 2004 s430 ABS light DEALER gave up unable to fix
my s430 is in very good shape but the the ABS light is on. When the key is turned the ABS light comes on without the car running. Of course with the ABS light on the ESP system alerts and the car handles hard. I took the car to a local well know and respected foreign shop. They replaced the drivers side rear sensor. It was corroded and the tester indicated that was the only fault. However the ABS light is still on. The wiring has been inspected and checked with an ohm meter. No defects, corrosion shorts to ground or short to +12 volts have been found. Working back from the speed sensors the computer module is the next logical item to consider but a new module is $2000.00 so I bought one from ebay (used) but known good. I had the same condition, the ABS light is on. I took the car to the local dealer, they provided a loaner car while they had me s430 for 3 months and finally gave up. I picked up the s430 and left it with a well known highly respected Mercedes Benz shop. They have 3 MB experts certified technicians on staff. They have had the car for 2 months. I bought another module (they suspected the ebay one was faulty in the same way as the original. Any recommendations?
