HHT software

Does anyone know if there is updated software available for the MB Hand Held Tester?? or if someone has developed the software for use on a PC. A company has done that with the Audi/VW 1551/1552 tester, and created commercially available PC software that connects to your car via the parallel port..

Is this available for Mercedes and if so, Where???

The HHT-software exists for use on PC. But I think you 'll need a few more things to have the system working.

I don't know what you can do with a Hand Held Tester. What I do know is that with recent MB's you can use the OBD to get information about fault codes etc. I tried it, it works and it's not very expensive.

You can do EVERYTHING with the HHT, like full tests of all electronics in the car, even compression tests!! It measures the load on the starter motor to test the compression while disabling the ignition...very neat

As pointed out in another thread, the above system DOES NOT have all the functionality of the Star Diag System. The Star Diag System is able to program/reprogram various ECU and system setting/values that a ODBCII reader/tester (Some even act as a semi ODBCII programmer) can not do.
