SL500(R230) E220(C207) GLC300 (Previous: SL500(R231) SLC(R172) SLK200(R171) E280(W112) E300(S124))
Engine Management fault P015700 & P219884

2012 SL500 W231, 31K miles showed engine management suddenly light on. Star diagnostic showed the following report:

- P015700 Oxygen sensor 2 (Cylinder bank 2) has a short circuit to the ground

- P219884 The signl of Oxygen sensor 1 (Cylinder bank 2) is shifted towards "rich" There is a signal below the permissible limit value,

- Live data should show the voltage shifting between 0.7 volt and 1.4 v (sinusoidal waveform) however, the voltage (against time) doesn't deviate 1.054v. This substituted value is setting off an EML

The view of the Specialist who performed the Star diagnostic is the sensor is faulty. However, when I took the car to the dealership, they said it just needs a software update.

Any similar experience or advice please.

May I also ask if the oil leak mention in the report is a common issue and how urgent should I deal with it?

Thank you
