ETCS Reset & Dpf Reset using MB2 diagnostic
Hi,
According to iCarsoft, ETCS reset means Electronic Throttle Control System" relean, where they added in the "relean".
Dpf reset means "Diesel Particular Filter" regen, where they added in the "regen".
As I do not have a "black belt" in Mercedes maintenance, can someone tell me when and why that resetting would be done? And is it even recommended for an ignorant b........... like myself to attempt it? At the moment I do not seem to have any codes apart from the LH front door not closing. Thanks.

Out Of Control!!
That's for folks that don't know, but have convinced themselves they know and create a smoke screen with what they call technical when its really very simple. That's what i get paid for converting the so called very technical to very simple.

OK, I get your point. iCarsoft added in "relean", perhaps you can tell me, why the air/fuel mixture might become richer with time? Will I get a later code the mass air flow sensor is faulty or out of calibration and that "relean" allows me to recalibrate it?
OK, second point, the regen. Will I get some error code in future to tell me the particulate filter needs regeneration and then I can act on it?
If I have convinced myself I know all that stuff I would not ask. But I can see your anger as a specialist, that DIY chaps are willing to learn more, rather than paying Merc dealers AUS$230/hour.
