WIS Setup - server access authorizations is invalid
Hi all,
I bought a copy of the Mercedes Repair Workshop Manual on eBay a while back and got the virtual machine up and running. However, when I launch the page linked on the desktop and log in, I'm getting a message at the top saying "one of the server access authorizations is invalid" and the only program available is a feedback one. Can anyone advise what's going on or what needs to be done? The MAC address I have set for that machine is 080027037CC8, if it makes a difference.

I don't remember the procedure for installing the license, but basically the license key and the machine's MAC address are linked. You'll want to grab a key/MAC combo and adjust your machine's MAC accordingly or find someone that can generate a key for you based on VIN. This site is a good reference

Try to change the date backwards.
I had the same problem with my Repair Workshop. I installed this software on three different computers and all stopped to work in almost same time. I searched for solution everywhere but found nothing useful. I reinstalled one computer but it did not help either. But then I realized that since all programs stop working almost simultaneously then maybe it's a time limit. I try to change the date backwards in one computer and then the program works again.
There must be a time limit in the software for how long the password key is valid.

Hi Rousta1.
What i did is very easy. I changed the date in my computer back in time and that is because there is an expiration date in the Wis / Asra software.
To know how much you need to reverse the time.
Do this.
-log in to MB WIS / ASRA
-on the Left side of the screen, open up "Administration / Server"
-open up "Edit the access authorization"
-now you see the row "valid until". Change the date before this time.
This worked on my version of MB WIS / ASRA 3.9.10.2 I can not guarantee that it works on other versions.
Keep in mind that if you use your computer for other work, you may have problems with the wrong date.
Good luck.

Hi,
Thank you for your post on WIS. In it, you mentioned a site that a key generated by vin existed but it was taken out. Do you mind sharing that with me? I have been having one heck of a hard time finding one. My WIS all of the sudden stopped working with the Server not Authorized message.
Thanks.

Mercedes Virtual PC - Server authorization error
The problem is the software has an expiration date of 2020. Their is a newer version available on ebay where the expiration date is 12/30/2037.
This would be the easiest and less time consuming option.
Otherwise you have to change the date on the virtual operating system to 2019 each time or run a command line to do it and manually start all the WIS programs.
