Alternator replacement help!
Hey guyz,
i need some help..just recently my alternator died on me, and i want to replace it, but from looking at it, it only has two scres..is that all it takes to take it out..the reason im asking is i saw my dads carmy, and on one side next to the screw it can be adjusted to tighten and loosen up the belt, but the benz does not have it, or at least i did not see it...so can anybody give me any hints on how to take it out and put a new one back in?

Your car has automatic belt tensionor. Loosen and remove the belt, the alt. is then a straight forward remove and replace. BE CAREFULL not to break the wires behind the alt.

There is a large bolt in the center of tensioner. Loosen it slightly. Then loosen the adjusting nut. Remove belt. If you are in over your head, I may know a few shops in your area.
make sure to disconnect the battery!!!!
