climate control button

w208 2000 clk430

the auto button on the unit is broken, it does not click when you push it.

when i took the button cover off i saw that the tension clip that makes it spring back snapped.

my question is can you just replace the button or do you have to replace the whole unit?

please help...how much does the unit cost?

One of the little plastic buttons on my MB Alpine radio broke. MB dosn't stock the part and Alpine is not allowed by contract to MB to sell/give the $0.25 piece of plastic to a cutomer. I would have had to pull my radio, take it to a MB dealer, to send to Alpine, to have them click a $0.25 piece of plastic onto the radio. If I wanted to do this I was told the cost was about $100.

Hope you have better luck.

i hope that i can just buy an new button and replace it, it would suck to buy a whole new control unit for a broken button!
