SRS light on - 2003 SL500

My SRS light came on and I would like to know if this is a major problem. Can I reset this myself and make the light go out?

No. If that light comes on you NEED to get your car fixed properly. I can't imagine it not being covered by warranty, so get it fixed! It could be the connector to the drivers airbag, or more likely the ETR connectors under the seats. There are repair kits available to fix both of these issues. Lots and lots of airbag connector problems are happening lately, spread across all the models.

Exactly!

There is a bulletin for the connectors and seat belt buckles on many of the models

Unhappy srs light

Gents, my srs warning is on ( SL500 03 ), I have just been to the main dealers where I bought it this April, and they tell me I have to pay for a diagnostic check, then prob the cure as the 'warrenty' seems to be as much use as a chocolate teapot. Anybody have the same trouble.......Good car though.

Most likely its the connector under the seat for the ETR's. If its not under warrenty then it can get pricey(per dealership). But if its just out of warrenty then all you have to do is complain a little and the service manager should DSA it.

Smile SRS warning light

Gents, just back from SRS light prob - found to be faulty connections/loom under seat. Would have been £500 because 03/52 reg but only bought from this dealership April - a little armbending got me a freebie.....and I have to say the service was faultless this time.!! a nice change I think you'll agree.
