Monoblade doesn't clean completely

I have a 1999 C280. I recently bought a new 24" BOSCH wiper blade(cost $16) and installed it. The blade doesn't embrace the windshiled at the outer edge. So when the wiper is on it doesn't do a good job of cleaning -- the corners and sides of the windshield are practically untouched!

I then went to the dealer and bought the OEM variety blade (cost $24). And guess what, same problem!

Is there a particular brand that is the best? If not, I'll try bending the blades and see if that'll do the trick.

I don't think anyone has responded because nobody else has this problem. I would take the rear window out of a Dodge Dart and install it in place of your windshield. That should do the trick.

most of us know that the mono blade sucks, I was thrilled that when I first saw the new e class that they did away with the mono blade. The fact is that most wipers don;t get all the corners and sides any way, get over it

Maybe it's just normal. My older blade did a pretty good job but I noted that the tip of the wiper never stuck to the mirror. My new blade probably needs some time to settle?

Members - how do you rate your monoblades? Have the same problem I have?

Not a Benzer anymore
Mono Blade...

I have streaks in mine, but I think thats more to do with the glass than the blade. Parts of the windshield are super clear after a wipe and other parts are streaky, like the blade is smudging that area. It can't be the blade, since the other part of the windshield, in the same blade location, is clear.

I have to say that the monowiper works better than any windsheild wiper I've seen when it comes to getting the windsheild clear of water. If you have streaks try cleaning the windshield and/or replacing your wiper blade before jumping to conclusions about it's overall performance. Just one man's opinion.

I drove a car with the monblade for 10 years, as far as I''m concerned the concept stunk, I am much happier with the traditional set up

I would agree that the single wiper does an excellent job at removing water, and it also cleans a large proportion of the windshield as opposed to dual-wiper setups with fixed pivot points.

Mine have pretty much always functioned flawlessly. I tend to replace the whole wiper blade rather than the insert. This helps to maintain even pressure across the whole wiper, at the cost of added expense...

I'm using OEM Blade from Valeo (Smart Blade). Works really well for me.
I got this from www.germanstar.net . When I ordered I thought I was gonna get Bosch. I can't find any other place that sells it.
