2002 C240 Sedan...Driver's Side Fog Light out..glass is cracked

Is this a common problem with the glass cracking? There is a 3mm (~1/8th) gap in the glass from top to bottom in the middle. I am thinking I am going to need more than a bulb for this installation.

Anyone ran into this before and any idea what had to be done?

Check to see if you can get the lens separately... Some of em you can, particularly the glass ones. There are usually a few metal clips that hold the glass to the lamp housing, pry off and pop back on. Just remove the whole foglamp, change the lens and clean the interior of the housing. Reassemble, aim and go.

Fog lamp lense....

Yes, common problem...$24 for the lense. The driver side is harder to install than the passenger side because there is more 'stuff' in the way. They break when the front apron flexes.

Picked up the lens today. Going to give everything a look.

Can I change the lens and the bulb from the little square in the wheel well? I imagine I will have to do a little more than that.

No, its better to go ahead and get the pannelling out of your way. I really don't think you could do it through the little square access hole.

I will have the install document up in a few days. It is game day here in Knoxville, TN and I have to report for tailgate duty in a few hours.

I got up and swapped everything out bright and early this morning. I was dreading tyhe installation based on reviews I had read on here. No reason to dread this install what-so-ever.

It was very simple and the only thing to look out for was falling glass.

Once I got everything buttoned back up to show the wife my accomplishment, the freekn' passenger front marker bulb blew! Can't I catch a break with these freekn' lights for one day?

That just means another install document I guess...

Thanks again everyone for the help!
