82' 300D Turbo Radiator problem

I leaned on my the top main radiator hose while reaching in the engine and the plastic fitting that connects to that hose broke. Any ideas on if it can be fixed or <gulp> do I need to look at a replacement?

Inexpensive way to do it is to find a short piece of copper pipe that just fits inside the plastic of the radiator. Sand the plastic of the inside of the broken pipe of the radiator well, as well as the copper pipe. Use a high quality, high temperature epoxy cement (like the one used for home radiator repairs found at Home Depot) and cement the pipe into the radiator.

Cross your fingers, and don't drive out of town.

If you want to take your vehicle farther than towing distance from your home, then replace the radiator.

I did the repair I indicated on a prior W123 (I have owned 3) and it was still working fine a year later when I replaced it with an E39.

I just didn't take it far from home, even though I dove it every day. I would not have felt comfortable taking it out of town on a road trip.
