oxygen sensor
My check engine light came on so i went over to auto zone for them to check code. By the way its a 2000 cl500. he told me there were 2 errors from the oxygen sensors. front and rear. does that mean i need 4. are there 2 front and 2 rear. and how do i tell if both are bad..i am a little handy so i want to try to fix myself , i just dont what to change the wrong ones since they are big bucks ....thanks p.s car has 33k miles

I'm surprised the codes didn't tell you whether it was the right bank or left bank. Do you have the specific codes that you could post here? The front ones are more important than the rear ones. The front ones feed back to the computer which adjusts the air/fuel ratio accordingly. The rear ones only tell you if the converter is working properly.

Here some info that will help you once you find out the description of the code. Bank #1 (driver) and Bank #2 (passenger side). O2 sensor #1 (mounted before the CAT) and 02 sensor #2 (mounted after the CAT). For example, if the description of the code call out Bank #1 and 02 sensor #1. That mean, you need to replace the 02 sensor mount before the CAT on the driver side. Good luck.

well i guess i have to take it to a local shop to fund out the right codes,,i just dont want to buy more than i need .......does anyone have a good online site that i could buy them on? thanks for all your help
