Question Looking for scanner suggestions.

Hello all,

Looking for suggestions on a scanner and/or PC software & cable combo that can read & erase module codes (specifically for the ESP+BA module on a W208 CLK 320). I can't justify a top tier purchase, so I'm curious as to what the cheapest option would be. Any and all help is appreciated.

Thanks!

I think a tek and/or primitive scanner would be helpful to see wild creatures stats just like how you would see a tamed creatures menu, you can also scan resources or biomes, it could also show how many of the creature or resources that are in the area It could also give a description of the creature resource or biome you scan. Alternatively, a simple way to point your implant towards a creature, resource or biome and scan it without needing to craft a scanner could also work well if not better.

Can you elaborate on your statement, and maybe show me an example?

Thanks

Inexpensive: iCarsoft MB V3.0 (not the MB II). Around $150-$200 on Amazon. Small and compact (fits in the glove box or other storage), and is specific to Mercedes vehicles. Free software updates.

Moderately Expensive: Autel MaxiDAS DS808K. Around $770 on Amazon. Comprehensive and all brands of vehicles. Limited programming. Step-by-step maintenance procedures, such as brake fluid change on SBC brake systems and ABC flush on ABC suspensions. Annual software subscription to update software. (It remains functional, but uses the last update before the first year or current subscription ends.)

Sorry, but that thread makes my head want to explode. I stick by the scanners I listed above. They will do 98% of what you want to do. (The Autel unit will even do the rodeo activation for older ABC suspension systems. Autel is more of a shop level tool, while the iCarsoft is more of a consumer level tool.). Other than that, you are looking at a Xentry kit. I have the Xentry clones from China and rarely use them. I have both the MB Star C3 and C4 multiplexers.

Sorry about that, that isn't my intention, I do realized their thread contains a lot of data and pictures. Thanks for your recommendation on those scanners listed above as well. I appreciate your reply to my question.

Since my original answer, I have also tried the LAUNCH X431 Creader Elite MB and like it, as well. The interface is a bit more complicated, but it does all the stuff the iCarsoft scanner does. It also updates over WiFi and has the OBD cable permanently attached. It has some other neat features, such as emailing scan reports, and seems to be a little faster.

Sweet and you also mentioned you could buy other makes and models to work on other cars, iCarsoft can't. I think it could be a great scanner for forum members.

Correct. I added Honda to my LAUNCH scanner since my son and daughter both have Honda CR-Vs. I think it was an additional $32 and downloaded via WiFi.

That's not bad, beats buying entirely new hardware. not to mention you can't really get as decent of a scanner as this one for 32.
