ABS Scanned Codes: Stored|MIL




Following Rodent-induced-wiring-repairs to the ABS system (All booster connections and both front VSS connections) I scanned for codes on a Innova 5300, hoping to erase those.
There are only a few (ex: C1110 L6.2 Right Front Speed Sensor) then it reads Stored|MIL. Previously it would have read "Current"
This is one of the wires I replaced from the connector to the module.
My Question: Is this "Stored" condition one which will 'erase' after a number of starts etc, or can it only be cleared by an MB Scanner. The Innova has an erase function for ABS and it reads SENT, but it does not erase/delete.

Hopefully mices let your car have brakes. Now the instrument cluster ABS warning lights make more sense

The ABS codes remained until I pulled the wheel speed sensors and cleaned those. They all tested good so were functional but dirty somehow.
Wiped each one with electrical cleaner, then used air to blow out the ports, sprayed some more cleaner inside, and blew them out again. Cleared the VSS fault code by disconnecting battery cables and discharging the stored charge.
I have other early aught MBs, now for 8 years.
My experience is most ABS codes can be cleared by cleaning sensors and ohming the wires from sensor to module connector. Also, check for good ground continuity at the module connector.
a good detailed wiring diagram is invaluable. Mitchell is one good source.
I use a Fluke 902 meter and have a box of test leads. Once you get the DTCs from a scan then troubleshoot before playing parts darts. I have only had to replace 1 sensor - that being a lateral acceleration on my Ml320 Sport.

i have had my 2001 ml320 since almost new and have been fixing it without a scanner since i bought it...
i have got those 3 dreadful lights (abs, esp,..) a few months ago and never got around to fixing it the old school way.. with a multi-meter which works great if you have time but now comes winter up here in canada and my garage is not heated so i bought my very first code scanner, innova 3100rs to speed things up by telling me which corner of the suv is raising the MILs and guess what, i got 14 codes under the ABS section and pretty much tagging all 4 corners as malfunctioning - which is nonsense.
i picked the 3100rs because the innova sales pitch suggested that the ABS codes can be deleted; i even called innova to confirm that the unit can delete the abs codes and they said yup, of course the 3100rs can... well, it turns out the unit cannot delete them... it's a ruse... a sales pitch. i spent at least 3hrs of my time communicating with innova until they admitted that in order to delete the abs codes, the problem MUST be fixed first and then the ECU will clear the codes on its own... and for that i dont need a scanner to be faking deletion of the abs codes.
i sent all the codes i pulled out of the suv to innova and asked them which corner i should fix in order to delete the codes and they told me to take the car to the dealer because they cannot delete the codes.
my plan was to clear all the abs codes, take it on the road and check which code comes up first and start from there.. unfortunately that is not possible and now i am looking into some way to reset the ECU in order to clear all codes... anyway, just for kicks and licks, here are the codes:
