Hi,

I have a 2021 CLA 35 and when I am at a complete stop (like at a stop light) the lb ft. fluctuates between 4-16 and horsepower reads 1. If I am in park these both read 0.

Is this normal? Drove my sisters g63 and when she’s at a stop these both also read 0 even when she is in drive.

Has anyone experienced this and/or does anyone know what the issue could be?

PS I took it to the dealer a while ago for this and they said there’s no issue… but I’m pretty sure this shouldn’t be happening.

Thanks in advance.

I suggest you get yourself a mercedes-specific scanner and see if there are any codes.

Check Amazon for:
  • iCarsoft MB V3.0 (not MB II)
  • Launch Creader Elite Benz
  • Foxwell NT510 Elite

My car, with no dash display, will read varying ftlbs all the time. Things like the alternator, AC, Catalyst heating mode and who knows what else will trigger more/less power needed from the engine to maintain idle rpm. P/N on mine seems pretty stable, for the most part, but in D I've seen it move around, even go negative. It is weird because I'd assume for those with dash displays that they would force to to read 0 simply to avoid customer questions.
So I'd consider it no surprise, and would've assumed it's normal. Hopefully others with a dash readout will chime in.

unstable intake pressure
there's no issue until strict warranty invoicing expires... the factory training did not cover troubleshooting your display issues.

I am going to assume your engine idle is nearly smooth so the display is in fact not reflecting engine reality or does it?

Lets test boost sensing:
Create leak to play around with intake vaccum level to see if that impact reading or reading plagued by poor electricals.

Use a scanner to see what's going on... is vacuum tracking display or CANBus yo display is impacted by other modules disrupting the bus.
