Hood latch problem

Hi - Not sure if anyone has had similar experiences before, but my 2018 GLC's passenger side hood latch was stuck and would not release. The cable only releases the driver and center. I tried to go through under the wheel to see if I could get access to the latch but realized I had to take off the lights. So, in the end, I cut through the grille (a good reason to ask my wife for an upgraded aftermarket diamond grille ) and can now see the stuck latch. However, I tried to pry in all the angles with a long screwdriver, and it just would not budge. I wonder if you guys have any advice before I go to my last resort, which is to cut off the latches

Thanks!

Geez! Have you contacted the Mercedes dealership or a local shop? Cutting off latches may make the car unsafe unless you plan or replacing them.

Yeah, I have to replace them after cut. Luckily those parts are not expensive.

I think it is the plastic ending of the cable that cause the cable not to operate latches on both sides.
Of course plastic brakes because the latch grease has evaporated to give rust a chance move in.
Hood latches need maintenance - While near there the tiny switch sensors need a silicone jacket to durably stay dry.
