Now we have no clue what the oil pressure is really up to.
In MOD-0 oil pump solenoid is actuated based on heat level, calculated effort and RPM, nothing regarding the oil itself.

We have not pierced the mystery of how Bosch calculates an acurate oil TEMP without any oil sensor
Perhap the oil level sensor has a built-in PTC sensor
Indeed the oil level sensor includes the temperature sensor.

Bosch use low pressure oil when the engine is cold and the torque/request is not high to speed up engine warm-up. This way the emissions are quickly manageable.
Working temperature, consumption, all that are emissions related so CEL should be there if time will pass and heating management will be out of the calculation or range.

Remember that MB try not to raise the idle like Toyota for example, that's why uses Secondary Air Injection and limited cylinder cooling when needed.

But how? The oil level sensor switch is a single wire connection to the ECU. It passes through the X26 #4 connector at pin 13. The trigger is a simple binary on/off switch to ground. If the pin 13 is shorted to ground, the ECU determines the oil level is correct. If the circuit is open (∞ resistance), then the ECU determines the oil level is too low and displays a message on the instrument cluster. There is no variable resistance to reflect a temperature change.

From your inputs, it sounds that this "oil level sensor" is a simple "ON/OFF switch" to GND.
This is a "Low Oil Warning when float goes open.

I understand what you're saying about "no way this has Temp built-in" because you've tested your unit.

Normal level range position is GND
Low oil is opened for warning

Temp sensing can be done by adding a serial PTC/NTC.
So instead of simply plain GND...
computer reads current through the 1-wire resistor
when current is zero then "oil is low".
That's how ✌️

I hear you... "ON/OFF" sw only" not a temp sensor: yes. I agree with Bosch, we don't need one.

Oil temp has multiple values throughout its circulation. The average is only one point value.

No one until now had done anything with all these reassuring numbers.

Without number, I found significance elsewhere.
Burnt oil smell/color was my call to action.

Low viscosity saves gas: Nice!
Matched viscosity cools & cleans: Great!

> OIL GAUGE READING :
"Normal oil temp" is actually bad news !!
it means low heat removal.
Working oil must be hotter than coolant.

Granted that "cancelling extreme heatsoak" may not "save gas"... perhaps it does save gas by running more efficiently.

We don't need more numbers...
We need more RESULTS!
Should poor EVIDENCE be ignored?

Positive SMOG improvements:
My sealed rings stopped combusting engine oil.
It runs with cylinders contribution extremely well balanced.

Zero engine vibration under load sounds absolutely unreal even to me.
Danke Bosch injection.
