How often does oil need changing?

My wife's A190 has done only 2000 km since its last oil change in April. Should I get the dealer to change the oil now? How long is best between changes on low mileage cars that do all city running?

Often! If you do mostly city, you need to change oil with more frequency.

3000 mile oil changes are a good rule of thumb if using dyno oils, but if you opt to use the more expensive synthetic oils, the drain intervals will be less, say 5000 miles for mainly city driving, and 7000 for general all around type driving.

Synthetic oils are more engine friendly than dyno.

Good Luck DB
