srs light on 2000 ml430
hi,
whenever someone sits in the passenger seat my srs and airbag off sensors come on. i went to the dealer and they told me it was a sensor in the padding of the passenger seat and that i would have to replace the whole pad. they want $650 for it, i checked the price on the pad and it is only $190. is there any way i can do this my self?

Most of that cost is definately labor. You have to remove the seat, take it apart, and take off the seat cushion cover. The sensor is below the cover, and isn't that hard to change, just time consuming. Getting the SRS light reset is another matter you would still have to deal with.
