Disconnect OBD II plug for panel removal

I need to remove the lower dash panel on my 2002 W208 CLK and can't seem to figure out how to disconnect the plug from the OBD II port that is screwed to the front of the panel. Does anyone have knowledge of how to disconnect the plug so the panel can be removed from the car?

normally it's secured by a slidding plastic lock on the upper side. It slides about half inch or so then OBD plug can get worked through the panel.

Lot's of fun things to fix around there:
  • HVAC actuators
  • Steering Column Modul aka. SCM
  • Tilt wheel mechanism
  • Main GND posts for ECU + F_SAM

Yes it's the same one.

notice the stripes... slide left with two fingers

The top slides to free wire harness
The bottom stays in place attached with footwell cover.

The slider acts as a lock to keep harmess plug in place.... release the latch.

Thanks a bunch for taking the time to respond with the perfect detail. Easy to remove with your instructions.
