M113 specialists?!

After exchanging sprockets and chain, I hoped to get rid of some noises. ( R230 SL 500)
And I did.
But stil, the valve train seems to be more noisy compared to the 55amg engine of my son and the old 420 v8 in my R107.
As if oil pressure in the cilinder heads is just enough to quiet down the lifters, but just that. If I raise rpm to say 1500, there is a lifter that tends to start ticking.
Engine 74k kms, power ok, milage good, runs great otherwise.
But especially at rpms above idle, some tsjiektsjiektsjiek noise parallel to rpm.
New filter/ Mobil 1 0W40 MB spec.
lifter, rocker oil supply problem maybe?

upgrade to a 5w40...

This weekend all M113 oil specialists are out and about... You know oil pressure limits the cooling and lubrication of the entire engine. It's is related to viscosity and temperature.

Mob1 0w40 is recognized to shade viscosity under extreme heat.

Try a different "Approved 5w40" with slightly better viscosity.

Actual choices are fairly limited as there are no approved 10w40 gasoline engine oils!

Candidates are : Pennzoil, Motul, Amsoil, Castrol, Liquimoly,...

Thanks for your response.
Was thinking about oil viscosity myself and thought about 5w50 Mobil 1 with MB approval.
Measured oil pressure an hour ago, engine hot, 0W40 Mobil 1.
Idle: 1.5 bar
1500 rpm : 3 bar
3000 rpm : 5 bar
So nothing to worry about really.
My friend, who owns a larger car repair shop, also thinks the valve trains
of these engines are a bit more noisy compared to some other V8's, but he thinks there is nothing wrong with this one, just as some MB mechanics told me.
I will let it rest.

You changed sprockets and chains... did that include chain TENSIONERS? These are essential.

I would definitely not skip from an approved 0w40 oil to a viscous 5w50 oil... instead just use an approved 5w40.

I stress Approved because modern oils must provide DRY-LUBE by additives chemistry not wetness.

Yes, replaced all guides, cranc shaft sprocket, idler sprocket, both cam shaft sprockets, tentioner, both rubber seals between engine and front cover, seal between oil suction tube and oil pump, non return valve/ seal between engine and oil pump, both seals between oil filter housing and engine/ heat exchanger.
btw:
5W50 Mobil 1 has MB 229.3 approval.

Most likely from hydraulic lifters. Any sludge in the engine??

It's been a while, but if I'm remembering correctly, the lash adjusters are relatively easy to change. While the rocker arms are off would be a good time to clean out all the oil passages to ensure it's not an oil starvation problem.
