Winding/Whirring Noise When Removing Key | w208 CLK

For months, my CLK 320 has been making this loud and annoying noise every time I remove the key. What's the issue? I haven't found anyone with the same issue yet.

I have listened to your sound clip. This sounds like your steering lock commonly refered to as ESL. A very commonly known failure.

The sound is a bit annoying now but then "no-crank/no-start" will be down right upsetting.

People replace the clunky part with an emulator module but then loose steering lock security.
Your choice...
