No Acceleration Problem Solved
If you remember my 2001 CLK430 Cab. started to suddenly have absolutely no acceleration, even though the motor was idling smoothly at 1500 rpm's. I had it towed to the dealers and of course they couldn't duplicate the problem. They advised they couldn't do anything about it without seeing the problem but they did admit that there were "acceleration pedal" codes in the computer. I advised them I would not take the car back without them repairing whatever caused the codes OR without giving me a letter on their letterhead stating that the car was safe. The Service Manager got involved and the finally repaired it.
The service ticket states "Cause - intermittent open circuit." It states further - "CORRECTION - EA pedal position/valve sensor - eng. with SFI/IFI. Repl engine with/DAS-test...............Fault code present for accelerator pedal sensor. Replace potentiometer and clear fault codes.
Hopefully this will eliminate the problem.
