Diesel Mechanic in N. Virginia?

Anyone had good experience with an independent shop in northern VA, specifically for diesel diagnostics/repairs?

My check engine light came on this morning , and I'd like to avoid getting ripped by the dealer (again) if I can.

My owner's manual assures me that a check engine light on a diesel is an indication of a malfunction in the fuel injection system. I think I'd like a second opinion.

thanks
Ed

Try Fairfax Service Center -- Ask for Reese

I would recommend Fairfax Service Center right across BMW of Fairfax off Prosperity Ave in Fairfax. The shop only works on Benz,BMW and Porshes. Have been in business for over 25 yrs. I have taken my cars there for 5 yrs now, no issues, great service. Ask for Reese .

I second that. If you search the forum, you'll find a somewhat longer but equally enthusiastic recommendation of mine for Fairfax Service Center. I happen to know he owns a diesel of his own, because I had a chance to drive it once.

I have also seen them save some folks money by being able to repair things that dealers would have just swapped out for a new part/subsystem.
