PS leak e350

You see the 2 bolts holding down what looks like 2 washers. It’s leaking out of the washer like piece where it’s brighter.
Just purchased so know nothing about Mercedes. Is there some kind of seal inside there? Is this something that can be fixed without charging entire rack and pinion?

Good catch, you've found your leakers. It's likely a set of hardened 50¢ O-rings.
If its located on the rack: parts unlikely separate.
Off the rack: available by reference number.
Stop by your dealer parts counter or use on-line Mercedes parts store.
Noisy pump may have suffered low oil level.

So Lucas or AT ATP 250 could seal it up?
you would have to drop the rack to change it and to drop it you remove those 4 bolts correct. On a Buick that part is part of the frame. This look like just a piece of metal holding the rack up. So you do not have to put a jack under the motor.
Does Haynes make a book for this?

These chassis use WIS documents that many ppl find on the Internet.
Look up MB parts catalogs for these seals.

It was just a bad o ring. Mercedes refuses to sell one but expects you to but a new line. A line and seal kit they call it. Went to grainger got a pack of 25 for $3.33. Was kinda hard getting at the line without taking the frame down but got it. Changed both o rings. Works no leak. Hopefully stays that way.
