xenon- auto levelling

i had both of my front control arms replaced by the dealer lastweek, and they needed to unbolt the front stabilizer bar. after they changed the control arms, i noticed that my xenons were focused "lower" than they used to be, and it seems that the the movement of the auto levelling system is only around an inch or so, compared to the original's auto levelling wherein u can really see the xenons focus down then go right up. now, it goes down only an inch, then raises the focus only a li'l bit, which im sure is really "low" compared to the ideal level.

could there be any headlight levelling sensors in the front stabilizer bar which they might have missed installing???????????????

Yes. Or they misinstalled them. Take it back and have them do it right.

Ouch. I'm sure what is involved. I'll move this over to the tech forum. Hopefully some of our MB tech members will be able to help you.

No that's not necessary. Jack your car up with some jack stands, then look underneath. There is a sway bar in front of the car and one in the rear. Both look like bent pipes going from left to right of the car. On the front, there is a sensor clamped onto the sway bar with a U-Bolt. Loosen the u bolt and adjust the sensor. I don't understand why so many dealers screw this up. THe bolt is meant to fit over a notch on the sway bar. Hope this helps.

And i can help you for one million dollars...

Sounds like the first thing to do is to simply look under the car in that area and see what they must have missed if going back is out of the question...

I had the same exact peoblem. When I took it back to the dealer, they somehow adjusted the beam, but they dont level anymore. Now they are pointed too high and probably blinding other drivers.

I noticed too tonie that my high beams are pointed waaaaay high as well. They light up tree tops now

yeah my dealer says that i just manually adjust the headlamps. but having the car for 3 years, im pretty sure that the auto levelling isnt working right. on a level ground,it only moves very little during start up,unlike before were i can really see it point down, and level upwards.

but if i jack up the front or rear of the car, the auto levelling does its job of pointing way down, then back up. but it seems the default level is still "low". i dont really understand how come this problem came up considering that the front sensor on the swaybar hasnt even been removed during the work done.
