ECO Start/Stop is Dead!

More steps involved though, you will need to put the vehicle in accessory, then select your drive mode then disable auto start/stop then turn on engine, not worth it.

The *** disable button on my '19 G550 never worked (I think the dealer disabled it). I drove around with the battery sensor disconnected for about 3 years in order to keep *** disabled. Then about 2 years ago, I was able to program it off with my OBD scanner, and I reconnected the battery sensor. My understanding is *** is always disabled immediately following starting a cold engine, and then kicks in after the engine is up to normal temperature.

Makes sense, although on mild hybrids, it would stick kick in when not at operating temperature (obviously not applicable in this case).

You have several options. BenzNinja can code your car to start with the last state of ECO Start/Stop. If you stopped with the Start/Stop off, then it stays off. If you stop with it on, then it will be on when you start again. Another option, depending on the year of your car, is to go with Mid Dity Engineering, but the price is $154 plus shipping. Their solution is one-and-done. You'd be better served putting that money toward a BenzNinja Club membership. Then there is the other option of using a Mercedes specific scanner to code the Start/Stop to be permanently disabled.

I would much rather have a code reader to narrow down or find any issues.
The timing isn’t quite right. I am still on warranty, but when I come off warranty, the timing will be much better, at least I am hoping so.
