Help? A180d Ticking Engine
Hi all,

MB A180d 2019

I’ve got this engine noise just started this morning, ticking noise which is related to the rpm… runs absolutely fine.

Can anyone guess what it may be from the video?

hi,

It did 10k miles before the last oil change

0w-30 oil was put in last service & oil change early last month, has done about 250 miles since then

So basically you are already running fresh W30... good!

What happens as engine warms up... noise gets better or worse?

It just continues when it’s warm, doesn’t actually improve or worsen!

can you capture a longer video
ramp up Rpm from idle to 2500rpm slowly.

I wonder if this is from engine top distribution else it's from the bottom end rotating assembly.
