Actually, no....at least that's not what we do at our dealership. You are really going about your process the entirely wrong way to find a car and get a deal. You are still off on your numbers? Where are you getting your numbers from, and what makes what you are looking to pay a good deal? Please explain this to me. I would appreciate it, but send me a pm or email. This thread is not for this matter. Here is a vehicle I found...one of the few:

2005 E55S
45K miles
CPO Certified
Bril Silver/Charcoal Leather
Lighting Pkg, Prem Pkg, TPMS, KG
MSRP of $91,824
$42,900

So you've realized the fact that there are less than a handful of these cars available, but still think you can pay less than auction price for a car that has CPO? I appreciate what you are trying to do, but you need to definitely raise your sights.

Maybe he is saying that 35k is his target when that price point is reached, not necessarily right now. It will happen sooner or later, and in this market, it could be much sooner than later.

I'm sorry, but I totally disagree. That is not what he is saying, at all. Before you defend this individual, you need to read this post, ENTIRELY. He is basing his "value" on auction prices, which is clearly not feasible, regardless of market conditions. I would ask that from this post forward, we keep things on topic, please. I don't think that's asking too much

I did say 'maybe'. At any rate, he is willing to pull the trigger at 35k. If you have a unit that fits the bill next week, he will buy it. Let's say the Manheim figures plummet to 30k in 2 weeks, then you buy it and CPO it, then figure 35k will cover your costs and margin. Done deal right? Everybody is happy.

"again Manheim direct numbers.
2/23/08 FAAO Lease $33,800 27,228 Avg GREY 8G A Yes
12/11/08 MANHEIM Lease $36,750 30,794 Above FLT GRY 8G A Yes
12/09/08 FAAO Regular $36,000 30,817 Above WHITE 8G A Yes
12/11/08 NEVADA Lease $32,750 31,462 Avg PEWTR 8G

Instead of dealing with you and all of your requests and your sales tax that you want him to pay, why wouldn't any person that is in business to make money send that same car to the auction instead of selling it to you."

Did you not read this post? If he is looking for the vehicle by years end, maybe. I really do not think this is relevant to my post. He can pm me if he is looking to purchase like I have asked him several times. I searched MBF and there is nothing out there. He will have better luck buying the car privately or from the auction with the units that are available out there. Understand that I certainly don't like to turn down business

04 - 06 e55 Wagon - looking for
My pricing is not based on Manheim - Manheim is not the only game in town.

If you do a search on all my posts (but I don't think you will - there is really no need), you will know that I HAVE a very good pulse on the e55 Wagon market. Just because there are a less than a handful doesn't mean supply and demand logic applies. And as far as I'm concerned and generally speaking, logic has been thrown out the window lately

I guarantee you $35K is doable.

He may have been a little out of line, but you are as well. There is no need for you to post negative comments about dealers. It's not right at all. Who are you to make assumptions about how dealers treat trades and finance deals...Like I mentioned before...PLEASE KEEP THIS OFF MY THREAD...I have asked kindly multiple times....do I really need to get another moderator involved????

How much did the white E550 go for?
I'm in the market for either a white E500 or E55 CPO this year. I currently have 2 cars so I'm not in a hurry, but I wouldn't mind making a deal if I see a good one.
A couple of other questions - that I'm sure other readers wouldn't mind getting answer to. How much are your shipping fees - to the east coast for example (like DC).
Are there "processing" fees that alot of dealership charges?
I'd like to get Pano roof as an option if possible. White is a must. CPO preferred.
Please keep me in the loop if you see any along the way. I'm patient and I'm picky but I'm also fair as long as you are honest and straight up.

We do have a "delivery and handling" fee of $599.00. That is attached to every car, new or pre-owned. Good question on shipping. We do ship everywhere and use a very reputable carrier names Accelerated Logistics. I know when I ship to NJ, the rate is usually around $850-$950, depending. I hope that is a good guage. I would, of course, confirm pricing if I was shipping a car to your doorstep in DC.

Is there a reason why you ignored my question regarding the price of the E550?

"delivery and handling" fee of $599.00. Why don't these guys just tell the truth and call it "extra profit and extra profit" fee of $599.00?

Ok, here we go again...another critic. "These Guys" are Mercedes Benz of Westminster, a Best Of The Best Dealership. We don't lie or "aren't telling the truth." Here is what our delivery and handling fee sign states to make you understand better in case you think we were trying to hide something from you, the potential buyer:

"To the negotiated price of each vehicle sold there will be added the sum of $599.00 for the cost and additional profit to the seller/dealer for items such as inspecting, cleaning and adjusting new and used vehicles and preparing documents related to the sale." Every sales consultant has this in his/her office for every client to clearly see. Please keep this on topic....PLEASE

The additional fees should already be tacked into the price of the car...I recently went thru this myself too, when the final price of the car came up $250 higher then the agreed price...I was told it was the "Documentation fee " and that every one has to pay it... anyways i ended up not paying it though...
I don't think i have ever payed any of these fees before..

Well, we are straightforward with it. We advertise it in every office and it is told to the customer on every price negotiation. We ARE honest about it

IMO, some of you guys make car transactions more complicated. To me, the most complicated one (particularly buying cars out of states) is making sure the car (and its condition) is what I want. The rest is pretty easy... just a negotiation game.

I don't care how much the dealer/seller makes... They could make tons of $$$$ if they stole it from previous owner... And I don't care whether they put delivery, advertising and all other BS fees... I always give OTD (for out-of-state car, delivered) offer... the amount I would write on the check when taking delivery. That would make things a lot simpler.

Now MB Westminster.... I know I'm on the other side of the coast (Norcal)... but I'll give it a shot anyway even though working out a deal may be slim (since you need to add shipping cost).

I'm looking for the following car, let me know (PM me if you prefer) how much you could sell it for.... rock-bottom price if possible as I don't want to waste any time haggling w/o seeing the car.

'06 R350
<30K miles
Any color but pewter, alpine rain, maroon. White preferred.
Must-have options: parktronic, memory seat & power lift gate.
Preferred options: NAV, heated seats, lighting package, AMG package, fog lights, rear camera.
Clear title, clean, no accident
Minor body work (e.g. due to scratches, rock chips, etc.) is fine (offer will surely reflect this). Preferred to have one w/o any body work or paint job at all.

Please give me a quote for OTD & delivered price... this means the amount I need to pay you to get the car delivered. Not 1c more. If negotiation is deemed necessary, we'll talk OTD & delivered price. I'll never talk any other price.

Thanks.
