Feeler: 2007 Mercedes SL55 AMG for Sale -- $69K

I'm putting my car out here to see if it has any takers at this price which I feel to be the lowest price available for a Black SL55 including eBay, autotrader, and cars.com

2007 Mercedes Benz SL55 AMG

510 horsepower AMG-built supercharged 5.5L 24-valve V-8 engine
Automatic or Fingertip-Style Shift Paddles

Comes fully loaded as any AMG, with AMG wheels, this car does not come with an option ordering system so its the SL55 AMG ($135K base MSRP) and AMG Wheels on the car.

Has 25K miles

In the color combo of Black Interior / Black Exterior, which I felt is the best color combination for a car like this versus the iterations on eBay which are selling for $61K for years because they have a White/Tan combo for a super fast roadster

Car has suede Alacantra headliner, has been meticulously cared for and has no nicks, dents, or scratches on the car.

Looking for $69K Or best offer, pictures will be coming soon, wondering if anyone would be interested at this price or what would you be willing to pay for it.

Is that the one you bought at auction: Link.

You do realise that you have to be a sponsor to do for-profit sales on MBWorld, don't you?

Not buying for profit sales, I'm just trying to make sure I got a good deal at the price I paid - I cannot buy at auction because I am not a dealer first of all, just a car enthusiast, and I would want to hang on to the car for at least 4 months before switching to something different, but if I can turn around and sell this car for $69K that means I got mine at a small amount under market value, and I just want to know if thats the deal I got so that when it does come time to sell in 4-6 months, im not upside down, and if someone offers me more than I paid for it, I can sell it, but I'm not in the business of flipping cars, especially in this market

Also, that post never said I bought it at auction, nor that I knew what the current prices at auction are -- I remember the manheim posts on BMW and MB forums and thats where I got the auction value figures, but I don't know the current auction market, especially since it seems car prices are going up.

Your post is rather confusing. Is the car for sale now or is it for sale 4 to 6 months from now? And what are you figuring on making on this proposed sale, more than $6,000, or less? Also what is an option ordering system, and why didn't your car come with it?

I'll take it for 69k if it has the Pano roof.

Sorry for the confusion, I will try and clarify

It is for sale now, ideally I would want to have it sold within 2 months so I could drive the car around a little as I've never had an SL55, but if someone offered me the right price (near the asking price) I would definitely sell it now.

I wasn't figuring on making any money from the get-go, I was putting it out as a feeler seeing what it would be worth, and I don't have a specific number that I wanted to make on it as I am not a dealer. However, if it's near the asking price, then its in my best interest to sell it.

The option ordering system comes on cars like the E350, the C300, the ML350, and cars as such that you can order options such as Premium I package, Premium II package, etc. With the higher end cars such as the S600, S65, SL55, SL65, etc, there is no Premium I/II packages because most everything on these cars is standard.

Post the VIN and be done with it - options on an '07 can add 10k to the car, simply because they were not available as packages on the AMG's, and no, actually, the most desirable options were not standard on the '55.

UPDATE - Car is on eBay @ This link

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...3AIT&viewitem=

The vin is included in the eBay Auction. I have verified that the VIN includes the following packages:

396 Voice Control
401 Active Ventilated Seats
415 Panorama Sunroof w/Sunshade
881 Electronic Trunk Closer
889 Keyless Go
R66 Run Flat Tires (Bridgestone Potenza)

I'm not sure about what other options it may have, these are the only ones I could decipher from the VIN.

Thanks!

The market must be pretty soft on these cars, if that was the top bid. I wonder if it would do any good to run it again? Where is the car located?

I've actually got several offers at the $65K range, I'm just looking to get a bit more and its a done deal. People are dreaming if they think it can go for $52K, or $55K, or anywhere in the $50s.

The Car is located in Fort Lauderdale, FL

2007 Mercedes SL55 AMG Black/Black w/Pano Roof

Hello

I am selling my 2007 SL55. It has a black exterior and Nappa black leather interior. The car is well equipped, with Panoramic Roof, Electronic Trunk Closer, 19" AMG Wheels, Voice Control, Wind Deflector, and Massage/Heated/Ventilated Seats, just to name a few options. The car is still under the 4 year 50,000 mile warranty. Currently the car has 26,850 miles.

For pictures (24 total), and a complete list of options, please consult my eBay listing:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...3AIT&viewitem=

My asking price is $69,500 -- PM me for more information, and if you are truly interested in acquiring the vehicle, I'm sure we can work something out.

I'd say if a car is going at $58K at Manheim, you should be looking at paying $4-5K above that at least + sales tax. That being said, it is a great value at $62-63K to have this kind of car, with under 30K miles driven so sparingly, with 510 horses under the hood. Now if I could figure out whats wrong with the massage/ventilated seats that wont massage/cool properly!

Thanks!
Said it once, say it again - at $59k, this is a great car, at $64.9 it's one of many. Best of luck with your sale. Look at the auction numbers over the last 5 months, the rate of depreciation has not changed at all - springtime will tell, but my bet is no changes, unfortunately.

If you can't read/comprehend what I've written, then you can PM me about it, I don't see how this comment helps the thread at all, can we keep it on topic.

Look, I'm not interested in your car, and I have no idea if you are asking too much/too little/just right, but members will always chime in with this sort of feedback here. The average reader/shopper on this forum is far more closely focused on auction prices than the general public.
In fact, many of the members on this forum can get an auctioned vehicle for cost + $2k. I can assure you that if I wanted to wake up at 4:30am and drive out to Harrisburg, I can have one at far less than cost + $2k by the end of the week. Not everyone can, but a good number can.

Is it annoying to sellers here? Absolutely.

Is it helpful? It could be. You might keep bumping your thread for the next 6 months with slight price reductions, wondering why nobody wants to buy. The posters pointing out auction numbers are telling you exactly why. This is a brutal market for any big ticket item these days.

Fair, many can get a vehicle at cost + $1K reconditioning + $1.5K fee for the car, however, what I did not like is people coming with personal vendettas (IE emoving) and people criticizing grammar (Seriously?) -- Nevertheless, If anyone offers me $67K, I'll take that, but I can't go much lower due to the amount I have invested in the car. Thanks!

I thought that you were going to wait a couple of months, before you sold? The weather is getting better, maybe you could relist it on E-Bay? Perhaps some pics would help, and you could also read Mister Brentons informative post about selling a vehicle.
