E55 Pricing in accident
My friend was with me when I was looking for an E55 and he really wants one but cant afford it. However, he did find one that was previously reported in carfax (about 2.5yrs ago) that it was in an accident. The carfax did not list it as a collision and it states airbags did not deploy.
The stats on the car:
2005 E55 AMG
~33k miles
Still has benz warranty for another 6 mos.
SILVER/BLK
PANO
Parktronic
NAVI
Asking $33k for it and they admit the accident claiming it was just keyed.
Title is not branded and it does have carfax buy-back gaurantee.
What do you guys think a very good price would be for him to buy it at?
I told him $26k but not sure if thats too low/too high. The one I want is an 2005 white/black with similiar options & 36k for $37,000.

Supposedly it was keyed/vandalized when the previous owner had it (not seller) and car was repainted. Seller did not deny accident, as when I asked he told me that it does state on carfax.
So now my friend is gonna call FL PD # listed on Carfax to find out more info. But the problem I see with it is if he wants to sell it down the road it will be hard.

I don't know. Personally, I'd have no problem buying a car that had the paint or other damage properly fixed. I'd be curious what the PD says. I didn't know Carfax would file vandal repair as an 'accident'.

In 07 i had my 2006 ML vandalized and it showed on carfax as an accident too, the Police came and did the report i reported it to my insurance, i guess thats how it works and it shows up as an accident. It was a lease and when i gave the car back Mercedes had no problems taking it back.
