You can go to Riverside Auction which is closest to you. You need to find a dealer and he can get you in to the auction and you can drive cars before you purchase one. You need to pay between 500-1200 depending on the person you deal with.

How can you drive a car on dealer's auction ?
It either sells on green light or as is. You can start it, put it in gear, but there is no way you'll drive it on auction property.

+1 Not a friggin car lot. You can start them and thats about it. If a dealer is caught bringing a customer in and driving cars around he gets banned! Im not sure anyone is going to put their business on the line for that.

Not to mention you are looking at 7 yr old cars which are obviously not going to be off lease cars anymore. So your pickins are slim. Better to look for one at a dealer or private.

I don't know how it is @ manheim out west, but here only the person on the access badge gets in to the auction. no exceptions, no guests. i'd imagine its a company wide policy, not regional. you can start them, put them in gear, etc, but as far as doing a test drive, it ain't happening on the lot. 2003's are getting slim since as a previous poster mentioned, they're not off lease any more.

You're going to be dissapointed....
most of the stuff that is older from MB Credit is pretty rough. Bodywork, rough interiors, curbed wheels, no books, warning lights on. And it ain't going to be cheap. If it is in fact nice, the price will be so high it won't be worth your while. And yes, I would not risk my Mannheim badge by taking a retail customer in.
