Yeah, generally speaking, you pay sales tax where the car will be registered, regardless of what state it was purchased in.

SL55 AMG
that's right you pay taxes on the state you register in. I bought my SL55 from PA and I had to get it MD state inspected and registered here in MD with the state sales tax...I was given 30 day temp dealer tags when I drove the car home.

Gents,
There's been tons of interest in the car and I've got two people ready to send me deposits. However, there's now a chance that we've reached a deal on the compensation package with our live-in daycare, so this bad boy just might be staying put, if we can get her to stay.
I'll update the thread when I know more. Wife is working the deal with her now...
To the gentleman that I've been emailing/texting today from South Carolina: As far as I'm concerned, you have dibs. You've been the most straight forward and appear to be the most serious. I like dealing with people like you and it was great talking to you about the car.
To the other gentleman ready to send a deposit: If buyer #1 falls through, you're on deck.
If we end up keeping the car, I apologize for the tease.

Good news! The SL is staying put. Will probably sell the E500 instead to gather cash for an S-Class of some iteration.
