This is my car; I am not a dealer. While an S55 is a special car to start with, mine is one of the rare "designo Graphite" models ($10,700 just for this option!), and is truly fully loaded (sticker total was $129,570 - see below).

I have the car's complete service history; all books; 2 Keyless Go keys; 2 Regular keys; the valet key; touchup paint; the Nav discs...in other words Everything! A certified Mercedes Dealer inspected the car; serviced it; and performed needed repairs such as new Michelin Pilot Spot tires, etc. This was done very recently: 74,915 miles in October 2010. Mileage is 76,853 miles now.

Nevertheless, for peace of mind, the car has a transferable warranty effective until the earlier of until October 13, 2012 or 98,000 miles (if you do not want the warranty, you can pay me a heck of a bunch less as I can receive a prorated refund);

I know that I need to be your eyes and ears, so I have been overly candid and super critical so that you can feel comfortable buying my S55 and know that there will be no surprises. I am also happy to discuss the car: If you are a real buyer, my name is Andy and I can be reached as per below.

What are the options on this S55?

An S55 is pretty well equipped in the performance category, but is sorely missing some wonderful features that my car has in spades. So if you truly want a fire-breathing 493 horsepower/516 lb-ft of torque- car that scoots 0-60 in 4.6 seconds AND includes the perks of a rare exterior and interior color along with a pampering cabin (aesthetically and feature-laden), my S55 is the one that you want. I admit it sounds like any seller's bias/sales pitch, but please do read on and go through the pictures carefully. Before I further explain, here is what the sticker price says:

What is a designo Graphite S55?

The designo graphite is far more than just a simple exterior/interior color package. Indeed the factory brochure that I will also include with all of the documents has 4 pages dedicated just to the S55, and then an additional 2 more pages dedicated just to the designo option. If you have made it this far, you understand why an S55 is not just any S class. Further a designo S55 is not just any S55. From the catalog:

Each cabin is generously appointed in buttery-soft hand-fitted Nappa leather, as well as lustrous designo wood trim that's shaped and finished by hand. {Designo} features our Exclusive interior treatment, with leather leather covering the dash, doors and console, and suede-like Alcantara covering the pillars, sun visors and ceiling. So taking these terms as related to my car, I will discuss the condition of the exterior and interior, as well as all mechanicals and features.

Exterior

The paint color is very hard to describe, but I have endeavored to capture it in the photos. Generally appearing as a clear coat medium gray metallic, when in sunlight, the paint literally sparkles like a diamond, with reds, greens, blues, and yellows. It's very subtle, but unique, classy and beautiful. The car wears all of its original paint and will far exceed your expectations for a used car. There are almost no marks; no dings; etc.
FAULTS: I did take a picture of the very bottom of the rear lower valence where I touched up the paint, as well as the passenger side front bumper where there is a very very slight rub. Period. The car is remarkable, and I have the factory original touch up paint to go with the car, so that you can maintain the as-new presence.

Interior
When you open the door to my S55, you will be overwhelmed by the interior's leather smell.
Even though the car is not new, I guess the absolutely huge volume of leather everywhere still promotes a wonderful aroma. The car also has NOT been smoked in. The leather is a two different shades of gray for a wonderful contrast, and is still as new: soft supple and no shrinkage. The driver's side bolster is unworn. The brochure also notes items such as the leather-edged floor mats with the "designo" logo embossed into the mats. I state these items very objectively; you will be happy.FAULTS: None

Mechanicals

As noted above, the tires are as new . The car went through a full MB-dealer inspection and service approx. 2,000 miles ago. The miles are well-below any book's suggestion (76,853 miles). That said, so what!? What does matter is how the car was driven (by two adults), and almost exclusively highway. So just any overly cared for Mercedes, the car will truly exceed your expectations. I promise that it drives; stops; turns and sounds as new. Covering a few of the questions I would expect, the car:

* idles great, and pulls like a freight train;
* has no weird tapping or engine noises ;
* stops on a dime with absolutely no brake squeal, pull or pulsation;
* tracks straight as an arrow at all speeds, with absolutely no vibrations at any speed.
* has the airmatic sport suspension, which raises; lowers; and firms up the ride at your command with no: squeaks; rattles or wallowing
* is completely free of leaks (dry): engine; transmission and rear end.

FAULTS: None

Electronics

My car has been dealer serviced all of its life. All of the features work as they should, including:

* Power windows and locks
* climate control system
* heated and cooled seats: front and rear
* all infinitely adjustable seating controls at all four doors (look at the pictures for this unique adjustability option)
* distronic cruise control will monitor the distance of cars in front of you and follow you setting automatically; heck it will even apply the brakes for you!
* bi-xenon/HID headlights light the way, and all interior and exterior lights and LCDs work properly
* All interior and dash lights function as new. Every pixel functions in every display. Every interior ambient light and LCD functions
* The phone and voice control function as new.
* The Drive- dynamic seats adjust and grab your torso to hold you through corners, just as they are intended to do
* The pulse function massages your body on long drives
* The rain sensing wipers sense rain and turn on
* The keyless go allows you to place the credit card smartkey in your wallet or pocketbook, and you can simply walk up to the car, open the trunk; open the door; jump in push start and drive away. No fuss or fumbling with keys. Push the square butting on the exterior door handles when you walk away to lock the car. If you prefer, use one of the regular smart keys. They're all there and all work (5 keys).
* The steering wheel mounted paddle shifters work as new when you select the "M" butting. If you prefer, rock the shifter left or right.
* The Navigation system is there to guide you around the country
* and on and on

FAULTS: What I am saying is all features and options work as new. PERIOD.

Shipping

I will not pay for shipping. However, I have had the opportunity to buy and sell a few cars long distance through the years. Sometimes even sight unseen (check my feedback). So I have had to deal with shipping and how to go about it. I will assist you with deciding how or if to ship, and will help with the logistics on the pickup. However, the decision to ship and shipping costs are yours. I would look forward to meeting you in the alternative. We will coordinate either way.

In Summary
My S55 gives you distinguishing features inside and out (sporty looks, performance and handling too).

I have the clear, unmarked title; books; service history; proper navigation discs and 5 keys. The Carfax is clean. The car has always been dealer serviced, and has recent new brakes and tires.

If you want the warranty, it's yours at my $26,900 or best offer price, and you will simply need to pay a $50 transfer fee. If you do not want the warranty, I can be far more negotiable on price.

I promise that you will not be disappointed. I have a Maserati Quattroporte coming my way, and I have decided not to trade-in my S55. I want to see it off to its new owner. Nope; your eyes are not deceiving you.

I have a bunch of pictures that I took in my garage. At night. They stink, and look like I am trying to hide something. And I am not. So I want to take new, high quality pictures in bright sunlight that properly show the car in a far more critical light (figuratively and literally).

As I work basically from sunup to sundown, I will take pictures this weekend and post'em ASAP.

Hi E55 ltwt, sounds amazing, I too have a Designo ''05'' S55 AMG W220, but my exterior colour is Silver, with a full graphite interior etc..., seriously spec'd to the last dime. I would never sell mine, it's one of the greatest saloons I've ever owned. And there are only 2 Designo S55 AMG Komps in South Africa. The rest of the S55 AMG komp W220 models here are just a handfull too.

S55 AMG Kompressor's all came out with ABC, active body control.

You most defnitely will your get your price and good luck finding a better replacement.
