Probably because it failed Virginia State Safety Inspection, which is probably why they lowered the price to $17,991. For most people, it won't be worth the trouble, but if you are able to tackle it yourself, then who knows.

New to forum but been snooping around for a few months. Managed to trace the shop that serviced this car. They have actuall service work done up untill approx 50k miles, no other service upuntill Last visit was in October last year for sagging rear, slow leaking. They didnt get any repairs done as didnt want to pay for big repair. Looking at the car fax auto check it would appear that the car probably got sold before any repairs. I spoke with the guy thats selling the car and asked if it had any sagging and he said no but it droopes a little after sitting for a week. Said he knows MB E55s very well and this is normal for these cars if not driven for a while..I dont know MB cars that well but im guessing that should not happen. When I started to question why this is normal i got the run around and some BS...disclaimer Note: I am looking for a E55 wagon myself but would not like someone to get hoosed on expensive repairs espesialy if being BSed by the dealer. Just makes me wonder what else could be wrong if anything...
Thanks for the heads up, looks like a fairly nice car (minus the "upgraded AMG wheels).

Ended up purchasing a one owner E55 yesterday with 62K with full service history. Not a wagon but nice car and condition..forgot what it was like to drive a car with this kind off power
I was reading up on the Arnott air bag replacments. Seems like an easier fix than the oem with air resorvoir.
I cant help feel suspicious of the guy selling the wagon on ebay. Try e-mailing him and ask a question/spesifics and he'll avoid e-mailing you anything in writing and say to call if you have any questions. Call him and ask spesifics and he wont answer spesific general questions other than hey, the cars in great condition with no issues what more can I say. Which is what you want to here, but at the same time he dosent want to talk about the car details in any shape or form.. I was on the phone for approx 2 to 3 mins with the guy. I understand if was asking for all sorts of pics and eating up his day and time. Had a friend call to inquire about it and he got and felt the same way...Just doesnt feel right. Hope all tread carfully who are bidding on it..Cant help but feel they guys hinding something...just my gut/red flags
