I was thinking the same thing...I know these are rare cars, but it seems VERY optimistic to get 29k for it, and he says no low ball, don't need to sell and "book" value means nothing :/...except it does. I guess I haven't ever been able to recoup maintenance money on a car.

This is the same car that was available with 133k miles for anything between 22k - 28k from a chicago dealer a couple years ago. There are posts detailing the car and the dealer around post 760 or so. I checked out this car then, and suffice it to say that this was not a "high end dealer" - check out my post #926.

So i kinda believe that the car would require $15k in maintenance, it was in fairly bad shape back then, and it sounds like this seller has done a good job of bringing it back to how it should be
But yikes, i'm now extra glad i passed on the car!! I wonder if there's more maintenance required and the seller has just lost the appetite for it.

Its really interesting to see a car optioned identical to mine. I was told the "designo" version I have was 1 of 5. I can't find a way to prove or disprove this.

What's your current mileage? What would you sell it for if you don't mind sharing. I'm probably going to make an offer (it's sure not going to be for 28k) if I get a job in the next few weeks.

MBWorld Fanatic!
I really don't care what people think about the E55 wagon. I have more people stare at it than any other car. Just love the way it drives. So much power so effortless. One of my he best bargain out there even at $30k. Tell me any other car out the that can put a smile on your face like the E55 wagon can. I find myself fighting my wife to drive the wagon. Truly spoiled to experience such a vehicle.

I do my miss my 04 55, but do like how the 63 is a bit more refined and the power just seems so much more linear. modded is a dif story though - the 55 is always in "BEAST" mode

I imagine with such low-mileage this car will sell immediately. There are a few cosmetic issues but this is likely one of the best E55 Wagons that has been listed in sometime.

Will be interesting to see how long it is available. People don't seem very willing to pay 30K+ for wagons any longer.

This is just my opinion, but I think it is overpriced. I paid less over a year ago, mine is an 08, fully loaded, from an actual MB dealership that did all service, fully documented, including full VMI and over 30k less miles and one owner. I did negotiate on price and I did pay cash, but still.
