FS: 2005 Designo E55 Estate Wagon - Graphite/Charcoal - Excellent Condition
Officially putting my car up for sale. As some of you know, I bought this immaculate E55 Estate about 6 weeks ago. I had been searching for a clean car for over a year and when this extremely rare example came on the market, I jumped at the chance. I knew this car wouldnt last a week since all previous cars I had looked at that were in impeccable condition were usually sold in a few days or so. As soon as the car checked out, I was on the way down to Long Island to pick it up. Driving the car back to Boston was a complete blast. I fell in love instantly. Coming from an M3, the torque was immediately addicting.
However, reality set in when I got back to Boston and found it quite hard to fit the car in our garage and still have enough space for my wife's car. I had foreseen that this might be a problem, so I had looked into parking options around our house and found only one viable option. Living near Boston has its drawbacks. I called the one option up but they had already rented the available spots out. Now my intention was to keep this E55 alongside my M3 but that is quickly turning out to be more than I care to manage at this point. Painfully, I am contemplating putting the car up for sale, in the hopes that I can find another this nice in the next year when we move into a house. That said, here are the details:
Basics:
-2005 E55 Estate (Production date 2/3/05, first retail date 3/31/05)
-67,600 miles
-Designo Graphite (041) Exterior
-Charcoal (251) Leather Interior
-Poplar Designo Brown poplar dash trim
-Alcantara Orion Grey (055) roof liner
-Loaded with Climatised and Heated Front Seats, Distronic, Bluetooth, Navigation, IPod connectivity, Dynamic and Massage Seats, Garage Door Opener, Keyless Go, and Folding third row seats. All in addition to the host of standard features that come on this car.
-Warranty in place through March, 2012.
-Asking $36,000
The car really is in outstanding condition. I tried to capture a few normal blemishes (couple of very small scratches near the driver's door handle and very very minor road rash in the front) but there really isnt much at all. The paint presents very well and the interior has been carefully used. Few, if any blemishes at all on the interior, and I am **** about this stuff. The car comes with Dunlop winter tires and Michelin PS2 summer tires. The car is entirely stock with the exception of the Bluetooth module (still works like the factory one). The car also comes with OEM MB roof rack cross bars with the corresponding key. I am also taking the car in to MB for an oil change next week.
One of 129 E55 Wagons manufactured in 2005 (and one of 193 ever imported to the US in 2005 and 2006), this is one of the rarest AMGs in the US. Of those, not many Designo cars were manufactured. I have been told, but cant confirm, that this is one of 5-6 Designo Graphite cars imported in the US. Many argue that these cars are becoming more desirable as time passes, which is why a lot of car guys started paying attention.
The performance is outstanding of course as with all E55s, but these wagons are touted as having even better weight distribution, resulting in even better off-the-line performance.
I can take the car to any qualified shop at the expense of interested parties. Please feel free to ask any questions about details I may have missed. I tried to capture everything but know I may have missed a few things. One thing I can guarantee is that you will be in love with this car the minute you see and drive it!

Thanks guys. Definitely getting hooked on the car. I was considering keeping it for a few months then selling but I know that if I keep driving it, I wont be able to sell. I get pulled in by cars and next thing I know, I have owned them for 10 years! Exact same thing happened with my M3.

GLWS.... this thing will not last long!! My heart goes out to you for not being able to fit it. A designo wagon?!?!? Awesome!

interesting, really makes a choice of a new CTS-V wagon or this a hard one. Reduced depreciation and possibly none with the E55 Wagon. although if one actually drives it that will come into consideration when selling (overall mileage). Interesting dilemna

Very true, although this car is just so much nicer than a CTS-V - exterior and interior design, build quality, seats, acceleration, comfort, features, etc. all outshine the CTS-V. Simply put, there is such a shortage of high power performance wagons in this country. Unless demand picks up and manufacturers think of importing cars like the M5 Estate, RS4 Avant, and RS6 Avant, these 211 E55 and E63 wagons will always hold their place among the best performing wagons in the country.

Keep the car ditch the house - a nice E55 Estate is tough to come by, lots of houses out there and one without garage space isn't what I'd call desirable :-)

Lol! I hear you. I do have a garage but I don't have a house though. We live in a condo. Burbs aren't my thing and I am not about to move for a car, even my dream mint wagon! Right now the wagon is in the garage and our 2 other cars are in the street. Parking is a pain in Boston so this is not ideal. I don't mind losing a bit of money on this but if I don't get at least 34k for it in the next couple of weeks, I will just keep it.

I could do $36k if you want ![Smilie](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)
Honestly though, other wagons have gone for more and they werent even in this great condition and didnt have all the options this one does. Of the ones currently for sale, this is by far the best value.

Considering the condition of the car, and the fact that it has every option (unless pano was an option in the wagons?) that I can think of...and it's a wagon...$34k isn't bad at all. Someone WILL buy this pretty quick.
