Just in time for spring/summer fun! Gorgeous SL 65 with just under 63k miles. I am an extremely OCD physician and the car has always been under warranty (through 11/24/13), including very expensive comprehensive Chrystler MOPAR service contract that covered absolutely everything except gasoline and oil. The car comes with all service records from 2008 (~27,500 miles) to present (~63,000 miles), 2 functional key fobs, all manuals, original window sticker ($182,720!!!), and cabin windscreen. Everything functions as it should.

I am the third owner. First owner was in PA. Second owner was a wealthy real estate investor from FL who bought the car primarily for his wife at 27,301 miles. At the time of his purchase, he got the MOPAR service warranty through Brumos MB of Jacksonville, FL. The warranty was transferred to me (3rd owner) at ~53,000 miles and it has been in sunny FL ever since. Reason for sale: My practice recently re-located to another hospital. Instead of having a nice highway commute where I could unleash 604 HP/738 lb-ft, I now commute 20 miles round-trip on a 35 mph road that has traffic lights every 100 yards (if you’ve ever driven in southern FL you will understand). I have a Porsche/RUF 911 turbo S that I use as a weekend driver, and a BMW that I use as a daily. I just don’t have any use for the SL anymore.

The car has four brand new (<250 miles) Bridgestone Potenza high-performance tires and computerized four-well alignment. The following big ticket items have been replaced within the past 24 months (some of them as preventative): ABC pump, ABC valve block, motor/transmission mounts, convertible top hydraulic pump and cylinder, ignition coils. Routine maintenance, including Service A at 60k miles, rear brakes/pads, oil/filter, fluid flush, etc, completed. To give you an idea of how OCD I am, there were about 5 pixels out on the navigation/command center, so I had the whole unit replaced (~$5700). Car is optioned with rear spoiler and front spoiler lip, which in my opinion really sets this car apart, giving it a more aggressive and low profile stance.

Regarding condition:

MECHANICAL 10/10. The car is perfect. It needs nothing. Enough said.

EXTERIOR: I deducted 0.3 for small blemish (~1 inch) in clearcoat on front bumper (no dent or paint defect—SEE PIC). I deducted 0.3 for a bit of clearcoat flaking on the wheels (SEE PIC). I deducted 0.1 for ~ 5 pinpoint (~1millimeter each) rock chips that have been touched up on car (doesn’t who up in pics). Paint overall is amazing and I am really nit-picking here.

INTERIOR: I deducted 0.4 for the two small (~2” x 4”) rectangular cover flaps that sit on the back shelf in front of rear window. The plastic hinges snapped and I never got around to replacing them. I still have them in the car. I deducted 0.1 for some discoloration of the plastic on the inner surface of the driver side visor where I used some goo-be-gone. Again, nit-picking, but want to give full disclosure.

This is a clean CARFAX, no issues car. Never any accidents, paintwork, etc, etc. Mechanically the car is UNMODIFIED and PERFECT. Car was always maintained by top-notch AMG certified MB technicians. I usually try to stay away from other people's 'for sale' threads, unless I am interested in buying. But since you asked for feedback, I'll chime in. Back in October I sold an 05 SL65 with 45k miles for $43k.

Is there an extended warranty on her or is she without warranty at the current time?

 

Thanks for the question. The Mopar warranty expired on November 24, 2013. As stated, all the "BIG TICKET" items have been replaced. The car is as good as new. To make sure car was perfect to go to new owner, just installed new OEM MB starter battery.

There are a number of treads on this forum regarding extended warranties for this car. Very useful information.

I've had several bites but nothing has materialized yet. New price is $44k OBO. Car is ready to go. Went the extra mile and just brand new OEM front and rear batteries ($500+). Tires are brand new. Mechanically perfect. Ready to go to a new home.
