Do you have any paperwork showing that the kit is OE? Are there any AMG factory stickers?

Great looking coupe. But there were no "factory" AMG parts for US models at that time. Had to come from either Chicago or Beverly Hills, most likely the latter. Hartmut had already closed up shop in Chicago by then, and parts were privately imported.

So you mean there is no way this car could have been prepared by an AMG authorized representative? If what you say is true, then I'm sad because it is a beautiful car.

At that time,

There were no "authorized AMG representatives" (not that there are now either). Hartmut had already closed up AMG Chicago by then, the west /california guy (AMG West?) might have been gone by then. Beverly Hills Motoring Accessories was the largest importer of AMG parts and accessories. Things were very different then (yeah, I'm old), and AMG parts were privately imported everywhere. When the word "factory" is used, that takes everything out of the equation. The "factory" would authorize or sell NOTHING that was not installed on the production line. Most likely scenario is that it was installed at the dealer before or near delivery. Doesn't really matter, mostly semantics....still a great looking coupe.
