With no intention of being negative to your sale I personally can't see the value in paying a high price for low mileage vehicle. If one were to buy the car for the purpose of storing the car for a long period of time and then capitalizing on the sale I would think that one would purchase a truly rare vehicle with the intention of holding for a long period of time. A 2004 which is barely 10 years old would not be my personal choice.

On the other hand someone buying the vehicle for personal every day driver would soon accumulate mileage which a gain negates, to me anyway, the purpose of spending a high dollar for the car.

As I said in the beginning this is just my opinion which is worth exactly what I'm charging you for it. It's just a situation that has always perplexed me. GLWS

Appreciate the feedback. First off, I would love for someone to use this as a daily driver. I used the phrase collector quality not suggesting it should be socked away, but as a means to describe condition. If someone wants to continue to use it sparingly because they have several cars (or is in a challenging climate like me), great. If they want to use it on a daily basis, great, they are in a better spot than buying a 50k mile example with mechanical wear and tear items likely needing addressed much sooner (just price out the brakes). Cosmetic condition is a whole different beast. The seat in the close up photo is my driver's seat..I think that is telling. It comes down to personal taste and priorities, but for me, I take pride in how my DD presents just the same as a car I do not use regularly. My asking price isn't arbitrary, I considered what known cars have sold for in the past 45 days relative to their miles/condition. I will certainly reassess if I end up storing the car and list it again in the spring, but the market is naturally stronger at that time. I ultimately want my exceptional car to go to an exceptional home...this is not a profitable transaction for me. Thanks again.

wow, a mature, intelligent, and reasonable response. Good for you.

If someone wants a like new car, this is it, and those people are out there.

good luck with the sale.

I am one of those people that would consider buying this car at the extra cost. If this is the exact car I was looking for, you better believe I would ante up for a prime example.

Finding low mile, nice example cars is becoming extremely difficult in this "new" used car market.

You may choke when you see the asking prices of some mint E46 M3's on autotrader.

Appreciate the support Quad and Nachtsturm. I'm certainly not swinging for the fences like some of those M3s! I am truly trying to manage to some sort of market value. What makes it difficult is that KBB and the like are well suited to help both buyer and seller on ubiquitous cars like a 2005 Camry, but not so much on a more rare car like a 2005 CLK55. Factor in mileage that may truly make it one of a kind, and you are essentially researching on your own. The seller and buyer are ultimately using the same cars on the market as comps trying to get to a fair spot. At the end of the day, I feel like I'm up 15% or so relative to some other cars, and if we have consensus on that, then I feel like I can defend that is calculated with some objectivity and isn't really a "premium", which suggests demanding some kind of goofy margin because of a gotta have it factor. Thanks again for weighing in!
