Supersharger for ML55

Supersharger for ML55
Has anyone added or looked at adding a supercharger to their ML55? There seems to be a few options available (HPS, Berg Werks, and RennTech), but there is a wide range of pricing (5,000 - 37,000) and boosts (100 –> 200 hp).
Thanks,

HPS is High Performance Systems (http://www.myhps.com). They seem to have several nice supercharger kits or the ML55 (one listed on their site and another on its way) based on the Eaton supercharger.
In theory, everything should work, but I am hoping someone has already tried this.

Sounds like a good idea,
You can put an AMG compressor from the bigger ones
eg. , S 55 amg and prey it doesn’t break - drag .....That’s about 8-9,000.

Out Of Control!!
I have heard of ML55s getting supercharged and having transmissions die pretty soon after. I believe the 55s tranny was designed pretty close to the specs of the engine. One reason why you dont see many ML55 owners doing too many HP mods unless they completely overhaul the powertrain...

I was speaking to a senior technician at Merceds Australia (while I was working for AMG at the recent Australian round of the F1). He said that it is not the transmission that is suspect under the additional load but the transfer case (which is made by Borg Warner). It is close to the limits in the ML55 but if you don't try to win every traffic light grand prix then it should last a reasonable amount of time.
If the transfer case does fail then it is only about $1000 (AUD) for a complete rebuild (parts and labour). Currently I am searching for some beefier components so that I can safely "up-size" my ML500.

What type of performance goodies you get? I got a 2002 ML55 looking for some new toys.
