So you guys are saying people buying 150k Ford GTs from Detroit have issues too? I don't see buying an 92k AMG ML which is assembled in Alabama as an issue, but for the current AMGs w/ 4MATIC, ML63 & R63, the ML comes out on top, so it's natural and logical for me to order an ML63. Porsche CTS is nice, but I would never get a Porsche in SUV form, they just don't work together for me. A true Porsche to me has to be TT rwd/awd, and weights somewhere around 3200lbs.

well i dont see it as an issue but i'd rather have one that is build in Germany, not that i would see much of a difference its more of a logical thing, you know its a german car so it should be build in Germany! But i still love it and would take it over more expensive Porsche cayenne turbo S.

I agree, but sometimes things just don't turn out the way we want them to be. For example, VW is European, correct? Its golfs and jettas made for the US come from Mexico, that's something I wouldn't buy.

Just to get back on the subject of leather dashes.... Was at my local dealer (Berlin, Germany) ordering an ML350 and I told him that I really wanted a leather dash. Well to my surpise he pulls out a DESIGNO catalog and you can completely customise thr interior or your ML – 350/500/63 etc.. with a whole variety of leathers and trims. It did cost around 6K though...looked quite amazing but expensive.
Ciao.

63 engines are handbuilt in Germany then shipped to Alabama for final install. So the heart of the car is still Deutch!

63's are stacking up everywhere. Every local shop has several sitting around.

While out for a bike ride last night I dropped in at a local place to see their inventory had grown yet again.

Silver E63
Black E63
Silver ML63
Black ML63
Black CLK63
Black CLS63

And these were the cars sitting on the front line. Lord knows whats in the back being hidden from public view.

This seems to be the story at most so-cal dealerships. The 63's are not selling. Not sure how much is due to low demand in the sector and how much is due to the new 63 motor being less popular.

Time for smoking deals to take place.
