Zack305 - I love the new pics, I cannot wait until the end of the week when mine arrives. I couldnt get a straight answer from the dealer, but did on another post in this forum... but just to confirm, yours does come with the cooling seats standard - is that right?
Yes Zack, I believe the ventilated seats are std. on the Ml63 because even though it's not listed as an option, they're on my car. I believe it's Std. with the 10 way power seats.

BobCanada - I see, did you get the rear entertaiment system for kids? I have a 1 year old and soon i'll be ordering my ml63 and im thiking about that option.

Can you tell me a lil more about the distronic? Is it the one that can stop you completely just like they showed on S classes or its an older one just for Highway use? Also what was the option cost of it? Also where is the distronic adjustemnts and On/Off switch?
Honestly Bob, I'll probably never use it. This purchase for me was totaly impulsive. I only stumbled upon this unsold ML63 after I decided against an
E63 I'd been waiting on. My kids are older and my wife's '06 Toyota Sequoia has a full blown system as well. It's a bigger truck and that will be the vehicle we use for bigger family excursions. As far as the distronic goes, it only applies a percentage of the braking to slow the car, not stop it. It really gets your attention when someone in front of you changes into your lane. The braking applied brings your speed down quickly. It's very easy to use with just a distance adjustment on the cruise stalk. You can turn it off after you scroll through the settings menu from the steering wheel. It's not a simple on and off switch. Option cost is $3150 US.

crjag - Would you be able/willing to post any details of your lease transaction? I have an October build for my ML 63, coming out of a Cayenne TT (I wanted more performance but thought the Turbo S (even more?) over-priced). The CTT replaced an '01 E55. Thanks.
crjag, check your PM...

EX,

Could you pass that info on to me also? Thinking strongly of grabbing an open allocation at my dealership. Thanks

Great looking car!

How is suspension of ML63? Is it not too stiff? Can you compare it to E55 AMG?
The reason i ask is, that i currently use a w210 e55 amg as a daily drive, and i find it too rough and uncomfortable in comparison to regular non AMG Mercedes... I thought may be since ML has airmatic, it's more comfortable.
Thanks.

The SUV looks fantastic!

Do you have any shots of the rear showing how the trailer hitch is integrated?

The suspension is firm but not as firm as my E55's was. A big help though is increased tirewall. That softens out the sharp bumps quite a bit. There is a very noticable difference between the comfort and sport settings. On my E55 it was hard to tell the difference. I honestly can't say much about the airmatic yet except it's adjustments raises the vehicle at least two to maybe three inches higher for better ground clearance. My old E55...was maybe an inch.

Yep! It looks a little low to me but I haven't tried to hook up my boat yet. Plus the airmatic will raise the truck quite a bit as I mentioned above.

I am disappointed that they did not integrate the hitch into the bumper more.

Mine is on a truck to the dealer and I should get it this week.

I had a CLS500 with the air suspension and could hardly tell the difference between the three settings. The difference between the sport and comfort is HUGH in the ML63. Comfort it is nice and squishy and you absolutely know it when you hit Sport.

I know this is going to sound like a silly question....but, can you put just the fog lights on when the parking lights are on......without the headlights being on.
Confused?? I know I am. LOL
Can you post a pic at night with just the fogs on...then maybe the Xenons?
Thanks

That's a good question Stiggs... one I would like to know myself. The light switches on MB products are always confusing. Funny thing about the foglights... I thought I had a burned out bulb in one until I realized that my wheels were turned when I was looking at it. When you turn a corner the foglight on the turn-in side lights up to brighten your turn then fades out when you straighten the wheels. It freaked me out at first, but it's another really cool little luxury about this rig.

I'll get some headlight photos tonight...I need to do that anyway.

Congratulations on the new ML63. I was going to buy one myself and decided on the E63 instead. I still love the ML63 and wish you much luck with your new ML.

Its funny....in my 2003 CLK I can have the parking light on with the fogs. In my mom's old 1995 E320 I could do it but only by putting the headlights on first, then pull the knob out once for the foglights then turn the knob back to the left once to the parking ligh position. This "trick" would keep the fogs on with the parking lights. Maybe this trick would work on the new ML?

Well Stiggs, I played with the light switch for about a half an hour last night. I took some rather poor photos but they give you a feel for what the basic switch settings will produce.

Parking lights...
[IMG][/IMG]

Low Beams...
[IMG][/IMG]

Low Beam & Fogs...
[IMG][/IMG]

High Beams... fogs go off automatically...
[IMG][/IMG]

I tried several different combos to see if I could get the fogs on without the low beams, but it wasn't happening. The only time the fogs go on without the low beams is when you turn off the car and exit, they provide ambient lighting until they turn off automatically.

Maybe you guys can answer a question I have. The rotary light switch has a setting for "standing lamps" that apparantly does nothing. Any ideas what that is and at what circumstances some lights somewhere go on?

The "standing lamps" selection is: either the right parking lights or left parking lights will illuminate if the vehicle is turned off and the rotary switch is selected to the left or right arrow. Kind of a safety feature if your vehicle is parked at night (or I guess in the day too) and you want attention to your vehicle. Porsche has is too....you either leave the left or right turn signal on before you turn the car off.... TMI right? Who cares about Porsche

Thanks Rider1 !

Makes you wonder why they put European features on an Alabama built chasis...

But that's OK you can never have too many features.

EX-BEEMER -

Thanks for the night pics. That zML would look badass with just the parking lights and fogs. Did you try the trick I stated above...put the headlights on, then the fogs, then click back to the parking lights with the fogs on?

On my ML63 which does not have the lighting package, if I turn the rotary headlight switch one click beyond "Auto" (parking lights position) and then pull out the rotary knob one click I get parking lights on and fog lamps on. I took a photo and will post it as soon as I figure out how.

Is this what you were looking for? And by the way that's a couple of water spots on my garage floor...not oil I had just washed the wheels which as you know (or will find out) LOTS of brake dust...wheels need to be washed every week depending on how much city driving you do. Enjoy !!!

I believe that's exactly what he's looking for.

And yes, ALL Mercedes-Benzes have a ton of brake dust, not just the AMGs.

Thanks Rider1!

I'll have to try that myself now.

Much better lighting pictures by the way. I should have tried taking them in the daylight.

Yes!!!! We have a winner!!! That is what I'm talking about. That looks Hawt!! So you should be able to do that with the ML63 regardless of it has the lighting package or not.....correct? I guess EX-BEEMER will have to show us.

Can you e-mail your lease details....I just got rid of my E55 and am looking for something different...

I was considering an R63 or a 2006 S65, but the ML63 might work if the leasing is better than the R63 numbers I was getting.
