Got it yesterday, coming from CTT. Nice progressive power, good brakes, seems slightly less stable over bumps but tires are too new to tell really. Can't wait to hit 1,000 miles!

I would be interested to hear of further comparisons to the CTT. I found the power delivery to be stronger, but the ML63 is set up softer than the CTT and therefore I can understand why it lost out (in lap times) to the Cayenne Turbo S in the recent test.

Full comparo will have to wait until "break-in" but I always had 2 issues with the CTT: the power was always a bit of on and off, and I could never get the trans to behave like I wanted, most annoying was low speed turns where it would never drop from 3 to 2, causing lugging feeling until turbo spooled up, or you mashed it, or you manually shifted. I will wait to see if 7 speeds is better than 6 for this purpose, or if more linear approach of naturally aspirated engine makes a difference. I do miss the tilt-down mirror, but seems quieter than I expected, based on dB ratings I have seen. Reminds me of my '01 E55 in terms of power delivery, versus neck-snap of CTT, but again will need to wait.

I find that the accelleration of the ML vs the CTT feels about the same, without times to back this up. The power comes on more linearly in the ML. The transmission is the big difference. I could never get the CTT to downshift without giving it a lot of throttle. I went to the dealer several times for this, but they could never get the transmission to be more responsive even after replacing the controller and software. The ML is much better. It starts out in 2nd gear unless you start driving a bit more aggressively, and then it will start out in 1st. Downshifting under partial throttle is much more responsive than on the CTT.
