The SRT is cute. I think women look especially cute in it. Can your SRT do this... (And no, it can't, limited to 3500 lbs, with a cute little receiver.)

Seroiusly, its a nice truck, but meh, its still a jeep, not the best quality..

Any vehicle can forge water for a limited time. The concept of forging water is pretty simple. The nice thing about the ML63, is it has a little button to raise the vehicle another 6 inches or so, put it in to "off road" mode and forge that much water almost indefinitely.

And yes, my ML63 pulls my track car to events up and down the east coast just about every weekend. Trailer + Car = 5500 lbs.. The G wagon cannot support a trailer hitch. None available. Almost switched to a G55 and no bueno with no trailer.

Bottom line is, if you want a jeep, buy a jeep, if you want a Merc, buy a Merc. IMHO the Merc is more practical for me.

Sure about the no trailer hitch, for the G wagon. I saw one down the street today with a reciever on it.

actually I just checked. it can tow 3,500. that's a shame, i would love to get a G to tow my Boat around.

Must have been a custom hitch. MB doesn't even offer a hitch for the G550 or the G55 AMG

And I saw my first trailer hitch on a G wagon yesterday. Definitely custom. I was dropping the ML off for the 9000 time and pulled into Euro Motorcars in Bethesda, and there it was, a G500 with a hitch..

He's right a simple Email tune and CAI Jeep = $500 bucks will outrun a ML63 !!!

Where did you run 12.6@109 very few have trapped 109 with Just CAI+Tune , I did . Got a slip ? What you got for mods ?

Here's mine and a Video of one of my runs 12.59@109 Chrome wheels JEEP .

But... Its still a Jeep.. IMHO if you want a quater mile drag car, buy a DRAG car. The jeep is cute, but how many heads are turned or fingers pointed at a jeep as compared to a ML63? Especially when the ML63 is pulling a M3 race car!

So does my ML and it can pull 7K lbs. Here, I'll use more arguments. In my opinion the Jeep is hideous to look at. The interior build quality is crap. AC DELCO crap all the way. The seats are way uncomfortable, the ride is horrendous and the practicality of its use is right up there with my neighbors kids radio flyer. My ML has 3 suspension settings, some of the most comfortable seats I have ever sat in. Doesn't sound like a tin can when I close the doors. The dash is made of leather, not plastic. The sound is outstanding, the ride and build quality is outstanding (even though I've had issues). The rear camera, parking sensors, ability to lift the suspension 6 inches with the push of a button, the automatic lift gate, true keyless entry and keyless go (I touch the door handle and it locks/unlocks, I push the start button and it starts with the key in my pocket), the monstrous brakes, the dvd's in the headrest, the Alcantra headliner, the heated steering wheel, mirrors, seats oh and the seats are air conditioned, and the fact that its a Mercedes AMG is my argument for my preference of that over a JEEP. Again, if I wanted a 1/4 mile car, I'd buy a 1/4 mile car. I have a race car, the Jeeps 1/4 mile performance means nothing to me.

Really, I didn't realize you had a case. Lets line up like 17 year olds so we can go fast in a straight line. Yeah. Do you double dog dare any ML63? Triple dog dare them? Honestly, you rest your own case as to the majority of individuals who purchase Jeep Grand, whatever they are called. And thats fine. To "that" type of individual with a few mods, its the fastest thing on the planet. But With those same mods to an ML63 we'd be right back where we started. Then what, the "But look at the price" argument willl come out. Plan B? how about the 90 other luxury items that make the AMG stick out from the crowd. How about its an AMG. Lets put some exhaust a chip and and and and a rocket on it. Yeah. Then it might beat the fastest SRT out there.. The JEEP is a fine option, if you like that sort of thing and bought it just to beat ML63s and Porsche Cayenne Turbos. Enjoy that...

I would take an SRT8 Jeep anyday over an ML 63. All Mercedes SUVs are ugly to me. We have an ML and a GL and the GL is decent but I like the Range and the X6 better.

"We" as in you and your wife, or your mom and dad. I ask because age appears to weigh heavily on a decision to own a Jeep vs. Mercedes. I've owned Rovers, both big and small, many Mercedes SUVs and have recently switched to an X5. Really, compaing a jeep to any of the others listed in this site is like comparing Mustang Cobra convertible to a Aston Martin DBS Volante. While the Mustang might be faster,....well do I even have to explain it?

It's all about what you value in a car. Both cars have WAY more speed than I would EVER need. I didn't get a C63 because the power is ungodly and the mpg is 12. I can afford the mpg but to me it's environmentally irresponsible. To answer your question I don't have nearly enough money to own an ML and a GL lol so YES my parents own both...as you can see in my info I only own a C350 and an R6.

What's important to me is looks, handling, and decent power though. I will sacrifice ride comfort any day. MB is by car my favorite brand (I'm Nigerian that's all we drive ) but the MB SUVs are just too feminine for me. just mho. If they didn't look so dang feminine I would take that over the SRT.

I've definitely heard that before, the feminine thing and I agree. Its not an overly aggressive looking car. But to me, either is the Jeep, just kind of looks like a box, with big wheels and even bigger wheel wells. My favorite by far was my Rover Sport Supercharged, I liked its looks better than my Big Rover. IMHO, the MB is a sleeper. Some jackass in a "sports car" and I use that term loosely, sees the AMG badge, gets an itch, and gets it scratched with the 6400LB SUV leaves him picking his jaw up off of his seat.

While you silly fellas are still debating "who's got the biggest pen... I mean the fastest truck", the rest of us have moved on with our lives and in some cases have purchased 3-4 vehicles during this time. I met a guy who just built a 6.125 sec dragsters. Is that fast?
