ML63 Sport shift mode.

when I use the sport shift mode and choose the gear monitor in the center display the gear will only go into first 50% of the time when stopped. It was my assumption that Sport mode should always go into first gear when stopped not like the comfort mode 2nd gear take off

Is something wrong with my program or is this common to others.

Thanks

Tom

There is a certain RPM that if you take it over it will go into first next time you stop. After a while of driving below this RPM threshold it will start in 2nd, even when in sport. Take it above that RPM threshold and the next time you stop it will again be in 1st. I'm not sure what that threshold is. When driving in city traffic it seems to happed a lot. Redline it and it really should stay in 1 for a while.

Thanks for the quick reply that would make sense about the higher RPM... also explains the 50% hit rate its too bad that you couldn't just drop it into first then stick it back to auto for the quick take-off moments...

Cheers.
