I think the new version looks *****. particularly the rear with the low mounted red lights. I'd kill for the paddle shifters though, dont like the small buttons on mine. Wheels arent bad

A-Rod has his own Benz Dealership? Damn Yankees!!!
The jury is still out for me in the looks department, I'll have to see one in person. The only thing I know I want is those WHEELS! I will own a set someday (after the initial prices come down or I can pick up a used set on Ebay)

I want that steering wheel on my 07. I wonder if it would be possible. I spoke to one guy at the dealership and he said he didn't think it would work. I will see if I can take some pics as well when I go back to the dealership.

I checked with my dealer a few months ago and he said it is quite a nightmare to change the steering wheel to the new one as a computer system has to be replaced - in Australia that cost was estimted at A$5-6k or about US$4k. He added that he is not sure if it is even technically feasible. For that price i will leave the existng one in with the buttons. My C63 will have paddles so i will just play with those instead, BANG!

$4-5k. Hmm yeah not worth it.
But I wonder if you got just the buttons, if they could or would fit the current holes where our buttons are. Seems like they are very similar in size and shape.

I'll post some pics of my 09 black ML63 in a couple of days. Just got it a few weeks ago and haven't driven it much, maybe 300 miles so far.
To answer one of the posted questions: no, it does not blip on downshifts.
Likes: steering wheel, paddles, 21" wheels
Dislikes: sound system sounds cheap, user interface is a pain compared to my prior 05 and 07 MB's.
Overall, if you can handle the atrocious gas mileage (I can as I only use this thing for hauling lots of people and stuff which I don't do that often), it's a pretty nice ride for an SUV.

OK here are some pics of my black 09 ML63 at home. Just 380 miles on it so far, only mod to date is clear film on the front end, rockers and mirrors, custom done as with all my cars by Premier in Fremont, CA - they're the best!

Very Nice! That's the first good shots I've seen. Love the new command unit and definatly gotta get those wheels someday!
Is that an F40 in the background on one of those shots?

Yes, that's my 91 F40. Also have an 05 Carrera GT, an 08 997TT, and an 05 CL600 Kleemann (627hp/800 ft lbs).
