It seems the front is the same but rear is 1/2" smaller but I am sure we can make the rear rotors also w/o any problem.

Correct, for some reason the rears are half inch smaller on 2012+ biturbos. they probably are trying to reduce the rotating mass by going to a s,Allen rear to improve fuel efficiency numbers ... It appears MB has already caught in to what I figured out with my recent testing, The gains are significant!

Hey guys,
I have officially ordered my rear 2 pc rotors from RacingBrake. They should increase my weight savings from 70lbs total to nearly 90lbs of rotating unsprung mass reduction (that has to be a production car record haha).
I can't wait to see/feel the results. Hopefully racing brake can get them to me quickly!

Final assembly weight: 17.8 lbs vs. OE 25.3 lbs. Saving 7.5 lbs per rotor even with 2.0mm thicker.
Rear two piece rotors come with iron drum for E-Brake.
Overall Rear View: 360x28mm with 210mm emergency drum brake - The largest rear rotor we ever built for all Mercedes.

Excellent! Can't wait to get my rears in next week to install them! I will post a full review once they have been broken in and installed. I will also zero out my MPG calculator and do another long term gas mileage test to see if I can best my 13.3-13.4 long term avg. I am expecting a milder increase of most likely 13.6-13.8, but I will perform the same 2500 mile test to confirm.
For the record, going to run the stock AMG brake pads (Pagid brand from what I have researched). Stoptech appears to have stopped making the ML63 pad, so I may run stock pads all around and just do a brake reflush of Castrol SRF again (I do flush annually, plus never flushed after my last couple track days so it's definitely time).

3000 mile update:
Hey guys, I just wanted to update everyone on the performance of the rotors after 3000 miles of use. I must say I am even more impressed with the rotors now than I ever have been before. They seem to only get better with more usage. A part of this seems to be do the abnormally hard & durable steel alloy they used in their rotors. The very alloy that makes them so strong and durable also lengthens the natural break-in period as it takes a bit more time for them to truly "bite" into the rotors. I am running Stoptech pads up front with the rotors and they have worked amazingly well, and are RacingBrake compatible with the super hard steel allow. Unfortunately, it appears these pads are not made anymore so I do not know what I will replace them with yet (luckily a long ways away given how long the pads and rotors will last, I may never have to replace either!)
One thing that I am excited to test out is the fuel efficiency gains once I install the rear rotors. Due to the unique behavior of Benz 4matic 4WD system, the drivetrain computers normally send 100% of the power to the rear wheels under normal cruising speeds. Even though the mass reduction from the front rotors (and wheels &.tires all around) made a significant difference, they are merely due to the passive rotational mass. The rear rotors are actually connected to the rear drivetrain components which power is being applied to under 90% of normal driving conditions. Therefore, in theory they should have a much higher significant impact on MPGs than the front rotors (at least in theory). It is hard to estimate by how much, but given this new insight I would not be shocked if the gains were as high as 1.0 MPG. Only long term fuel efficiency testing will prove that but if so that would put my ML well into the 19.X range on long trips (WITH MODIFICATIONS). Without mods you could be even into the 20.X range (gasp!). I can't wait to test them out once all my other minor wear & tear items have been addressed.
Once completed my full Mass Reduction project will officially be complete and I will have reduced the overall rotating mass assemblies in the drivetrain by a shocking 90 lbs!! It honestly dances on its feet like a C63 now if you can believe that. Before it felt almost G wagon like by comparison. If there is one set of modifications that you can do (that will NOT void your warranty) it has to be the full Set of mass reduction modification upgrades, it will absolutely transform the way your car handles, brakes, accelerates, cruises, corners, and smoothness of the ride quality on the road.
Pardon the delay, but my ML has been in the shop recently to fix some suspension issues but it should be out shortly.
If your brakes are coming up due soon for replacement ... I CANNOT stress this enough, resist the urge to be cheap and replace with stock OEM components (which actually are not much cheaper than these). Get a set of the RacingBrake rotors and Forgestar wheels with continental DWS tires, you won't ever regret it!

Not sure wear the low opinion of the stock fluid comes from. Specs of stock fluid are near the motul 600 fluid. AMG academy pro has no problems with stock fluid. I have had no problems with fluid either. I will say that you should have fluid newer than 6 months for a track day.

Stock fluid is crap, even Motul is junk compared to Castrol SRF. Once you run Castrol SRF, everything else will feel like standard DOT fluid. Formula 1 ran Castrol SRF for almost a decade for a very good reason. Nothing else comes close to the wet boiling point of Castrol SRF (dry boiling point is irrelevant, it's the we boiling point that matters most). Once you go SRF, there's no going back ... Trust me

Hey betezra, they only come in slotted, you are lucky you have the 2011, as 2012 Benz went with much smaller rear brakes for the biturbos (still makes zero sense, more power, less brakes).
Get the full set, it's well worth it. I am running Stoptech pads up from and OEM AMG pads rear and I absolutely love the setup. Still waiting to out my rears on, once I do I will do one final update.

I just picked up this 29k mile 2011 ml63 last week. It still appears to have the orig rotors which are worn down to the bottom of the drilled dimples. The peddle feel is softvin my opinion. I'm considering this upgrade as well as part of my routine main and a upgrade.

3 things, worn rotors, worn brake pads, and very old brake fluid.
Get the 2-piece rotors with the new pads I suggested. Also, for the brake fluid I HIGHLY recommend flushing the whole brake system with 2 quarts of Castrol SRF (it's the best fluid and last twice as long as other performance fluids, including Motul). The fluid alone firms up the brake pedal 10%

Perhaps I'm spoiled but my base-line is a recent BBK install (6/4) on my little clk55Kleemann and my ml63 with worn stock 30K mile brakes stops like a bus, so I'm hoping to improve things immensly. Wife's X5 sport stops on a dime and should be similar wgt... so this mod is in order.

You won't be disappointed, also upgrading tires will be key, continental DWS are WAAY better than the stock UHPs and they are also 3 lbs lighter a piece too with much better ride quality

Rear rotors have arrived and will be installed shortly for testing. Waiting for the Castrol SRF fluid to arrive so I can do both at the same time.
I should be able to get both done hopefully by next week. For extensive testing before I provide a final review.
In theory the rear rotors should provide the bigger impact between the fronts & rears as 90% of the time the 4matic on our cars is sending 100% of the power do the rear wheels. So in theory it should have a bigger impact on MPG than the fronts.

Castrol SRF has arrived and rear rotors are going in on Friday along with new OEM AMG pads! Should drop roughly 20 lbs of unsprung rotating mass total (roughly 10lbs per rotor). I have received the newer 26mm thickness v2.0 version of the rear rotors.
Also, going to adjust ride height on Friday as well to lower the car roughly 1" all around for a much better stance.

We are looking into developing an upgrade caliper kit for ML63, as we made more two piece rotors for other comparable SUV like Porsche Cayenne and Jeep SRT8, or other high end MBs' it seems what's really missing for ML63 is a light weight and high performance fixed piston calipers like our RB6S 6-piston caliper:
This true high performance caliper not only will further reduce the weight from bulky and heavy stock iron calipers, changing the brake pads is a breeze and uses the same brake pads as SRT8. And the system is designed for bolt on installation using the stock size rotors, so you can continue using RB light weight two piece rotors for the overall performance improvement.
